Re: Flop descision: how much to bet (and why)?

I think it's a given we are betting around pot size, at the very least.

What I'm driving at is the next move - what is the only hand we really fear? If a pot bet is called and flush cards pop out...

Re: 50NL JTs big draw

Does anyone else like checking the flop back?

An aggro opponent may bluff at a turn flush card for you. Unfortunately I saw the results so my opinion of the turn as played is now biased.

Re: i played this terrible. agree?

I don't think there are many possible flops for this hand where you're more likely to be the stacker rather than the stackee, unless you're looking to flop a straight?!

Flop descision: how much to bet (and why)?

$50 buyin game in Full Tilt.

No particular reads on ops, haven't been long at the table or played any hands yet, all three players to the flop have full stacks.

Pre-flop: two early position...

Re: Flop descision: how much do you bet?

Well that's what I did, and it might appear to be standard. But on reflection I think I have a better plan for this particular situation.

I meant to ask in my post, how much - but more importantly...

What would a good player do?

I'm an inexperienced PLO player learning the ropes (usually) buying in short to the 0.5/1.00 game on Stars.

I started with $25 and have been building slowly to $50 so far, playing very tight on a...

Re: New to Stars, playing too passive?

Point taken about bet size, I was def. playing passively (/weakly).

My thinking on the turn was that he was probably on a draw: I bet half pot hoping he'd call with the draw, or raise with 2-pair...

New to Stars, playing too passive?

No reads on foe as it's his first hand. Sometimes I'd raise here pre-flop but I'm just getting my feet wet on Stars. Aside from this any criticism on flop or turn?

What's your line on the river?

Re: tadpole seeks advice from the sharks

Thanks for your suggestion dogs.

The poll and question are related as I was musing about the villain's highly aggro play. I also noticed another thread on the topic and wondered if somehow pot...

tadpole seeks advice from the sharks

Low stakes 6-handed table, most players apparently quite loose and passive except for 'hyper-aggro man' (HA!).

HA has been at the table for five or more revolutions pot-raising every hand but one...

Re: Good thing it wasn\'t my money :-)

Hi Kotkis, you are half right - I am discussing this hand with a friend too, but we both agree on it (I wondered if better players might help out!)

Also it is from a cash game - I bought in short...

Re: Good thing it wasn\'t my money :-)

'blinds are 80/160 and the effective stacks are only 5k wtf'

I think the reason there were only two players was some monkey had just walked off with a lot of their monies, and I bought in a bit...

Re: Good thing it wasn\'t my money :-)

'Dude, I dont think he considered folding but how to extract the most value'

I think versus a good player, the only hands I could extract any more from would probably be KK or QQ given the betting...

Re: buying in with a short stack.

Sklansky and Miller seem to think there are many advantages to playing a short stack. I think a lot of players here might look down on that strategy since it is often played by numbnuts, but I also...

Re: Short Stack Crap

Short stack monkeys annoy me for some of the reasons mentioned but where I play according to my records they are mostly donators, playing the strategy fairly poorly.

Granted, I'd much prefer...

Hi Admin,

You don't say if you're a full-ring player or 6-max. I'd guess from the figures full. I think you probably know where your strengths and weaknesses are - perhaps it would be more...

Re: Short buy strategy

Hi Klak,

Here's a long thread all about it:

Personally, I have no time for this idea. I think it's better to simply buy in full...

Re: Pot-limit Omaha Hi Poll

Hi Cooker,

I was under the impression that edge and variance were two sides of the same coin. In a game whose outcome is based (for example) on 99% skill, 1% chance, the bankroll fluctuations for...

Re: Pot-limit Omaha Hi Poll

Hi Kurto,

On another reading of my questions I think there's room for improvement for sure, but I think we might have sparked a useful bit of debate regardless.

I'm a bit disappointed with the...
