Re: Are Flu Shots -EV?

Of course its +EV, with a shot your chances of getting the flu are nil..... about the same as finding a whale in the Amazon jungle.

Re: is the EV for this game really infinity?

You can play this +EV game for $20 at this website. Repeatedly press the "play a single game" key and watch your positive EV losses mount!

Re: Chances of hitting BBJ

My "guesstimates" for your particular BBJ:
1)1 in 123,000 hands for an individual badbeat; about 1 in 20,000 hands for a share in a table of 6 (just divide 123,000 by number of players)
2) If you...

Re: Can you figure out your overall edge with PokerTracker?

Why is "edge" not the the same as ROI in ring poker? Maybe it is just semantics. You simply take the net cash won and divide it by the total amount of cash bet (risked). It is not normally computed...

Re: Calculating Contributed rakeback using PokerTracker

Last I saw, it was not easily calculated from PT. I understand the developers may be working on adding it in. There is an SQL program attempt at getting at it that may or may not be correct. It is...

Re: We win (AP Scandal v. 27)

Kudos to those who broke this open.

The pocket fives post ends: "Extremely Relieved, --Adam". I don't find this something to be relieved about. I was hoping for an innocent explanation. I am...

Re: Why is Deal or No Deal not the Monte Carlo problem?

In the Monte Hall door scenario, if Monte picked the door randomly like you did in the card game then the player would lose the game 2/3 and win 1/3 of the time when switching. Why? The player can...

Re: The Myth of Meaning

You may be looking for someone to defend this classic statement:
"Without a belief in God [and that he loves you], a person cannot find real meaning in life."

If so, I'm not surprised. It haunts...

Re: The Myth of Meaning

You have to tell us what you think adds meanng to your life. For many people "feeling loved" does add meaning.

Re: The Myth of Meaning

Splendor's quotes explain it. "God loves you" simply means that God watches over you like a parent does for a child. He will help us in our life on earth and give us a chance at heaven. Believing...

Thanks but the newest AP HU classic default background still shows up. I've changed bg9_one.dat and every bg file I could find. I logged out of AP and re-booted, double-checked bg9_one.dat to make...

Re: Bad Beat JackPots

According to one bonus poker site, it is actually +EV with respect to the extra rake and jackpot to play on a BBJ table when the Jackpot amount is large enough, something like over $320,000....

Re: 99.99890581% chance that cheaters were operating on Absolute?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, bu the probability statistic that you reported is similar to the probability of seeing 2 players being dealt AA at the same table. Any experienced online player who...

Re: Absolute Cliffsnotes (Mod edit: AP thread, part 2)

I never saw more poker drama online than last night when Doubledrag showed up at the AP 10/20 tables. The table had to be blocked because of too many observers and too many waiting for a table.

Re: AA gets too much action?

Yep. The current board is a fold too if we don't fail to include the most important hand in foe's hand range /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Your math is excellent and I'm no poker genius, but IMHO this is a fold . Something about foe's possible range bothers me.

Re: No more Jman on Cardrunners?

These expert pro (Jman,Green Plastic, srugby etc) videos drive me crazy. They have conflicting advice and about half the time the pros seem to end up the session with a loss to lower level players. ...
