Re: Chess Game of the Month

I love this line. The fact that it boils down to a sterile endgame sort of kills part of it for some people, but taking on Estrin in a Two Knights, the guy that WROTE THE BOOK, does take cojones,...

digital camera: HP 720 slows to a crawl with 2gig memory card

Anyone else ever seen this? I have an older (3.2 m/pixels) digital camera. I had a 64m memory card in there which worked fine. I figured a 2gb card would give me more options regarding memory, but...

200 NL first hand blind v blind

I literally just sat down. He has a decent stack of chips--my only "read". I feel like the calls are dominos. If you call preflop you call the flop and the turn, and so on...looking for opinions on...

Re: ** WSOP ME, FT Sweat, Tuesday, July 17 **

I stayed up late for the final tables for Hachem & Gold. Hachem finished around 6:30 am (vegas time) and Gold around 3:30 am vegas time. How late did Raymer's win & Moneymaker's win run? What was the...

Re: 6 max or full ring?

6-max is essentially more fun, with optimal VPIP percentages in the 20's versus the teens for full ring. It is more aggresssive, will teach you about full ring if/when you return to it, and is indeed...

Re: Is a river bet standard?

[ QUOTE ]

Re: Is a river bet standard?

I think donking the flop is fine on occasion but it will only get you action when someone else has some sort of equity in the pot: ie a decent pair or a decent draw. Most donks will bet last to act...

Re: For Americans: Does it embarrass you that George Bush is Presiden

I am embarrassed by him, and have said so to many people from other countries.

1) He has created an imperial presidency that is counter to what makes America great.

2) He sees his highest...

Re: Teaching a 7 year old chess end games

I've done some teaching on this and can recommend some things...

1)Start with 2 queens and the "rook roller" mate. ex: white Qa1, Qb2, Black king h3. Check down the board.
Don't worry about...

odds of bad beat

At our local casino we have a bad beat that says you need Aces full of kings losing to trigger the bad beat. Oh yes, and if you get quads, they must come from pocket pairs.

What are the odds of...

Re: A2 vs idiot

Muck preflop.

1)Your reverse implied odds stink.

2)The two is virtually worthless.

3) Three people are left to act behind you. If they join the hand you are likely waaaay behind, if you're...

Re: Basic JJ Preflop question

I'm not so confident of the call. One problem is what to do if UNDERcards fall & there is significant action. Do you muck?
