Thankfully Anahiem's taking it to Ottawa. This series needs to be over.

The NHL season is just way too long.

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

Usually, when the team I'm rooting for gets bumped in most professional sporting playoffs, I still follow the rest fo the postseason. Hockey, I never seem to. Just seems like they take way too long...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

Got back from my vacation... was dissapointed to see while I was away how the Canucks kept losing 1 goal games. Tough luck for my Nucks! As for DET-SJ... didn't really get to see much of the games,...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

The difference in VAN@ANA was clearly Vancouver's defense. They broke down at all the wrong points, which led to 3 of Anahiem's goals (I'm not counting the 5th, because a) it was a late powerplay,...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

You guys are being a little drastic to all say Ducks in 5. Vancouver matched up against Dallas in a way no other teams in the first round did. It was like matching the exact same team up. ...

Re: NHL playoff thread blah blah

YES! CANUCKS!

I honestly think the Canucks match up better against DET/ANA/SJ than they do against DAL/MIN/CGY. Thank god they made it through tonight. After that first period, things were NOT...

Re: NHL playoff thread blah blah

Canucks tonight... at home... they've been in this position before, back in 2003, up 3-1 against a pesky Wild team. Same thing here. I just hope they can pull this out, because even from a calm...

Re: NHL playoff thread blah blah

Franzen finishes it off early in 2OT. About time. Calgary had no business taking the series to 6 games, and that nonsense at the end of game 5 was ridiculous.

Now... who was that joker who said...

Re: NHL playoff thread blah blah

For the teams being as good as they are at home, the games in Detroit have all been decidedly dominated by Detroit. None of the games in Calgary have been like that in Calgary -- they've hung on for...

Re: Brodeur looks human

Devils advance! Though with a lot more trouble than I thought.

So it's:
1 BUF vs. 6 NYR (Buffalo in 6)
2 NJ vs. 4 OTT (Ottawa in 6)

Everybody here in Calgary is all for what went on at the end of the game. Then again... everyone here is just a fan of rough, tough rock 'em sock 'em type hockey... everyone's got the same mentality...

Vokoun kept the Preds in these games, for the most part. So would have Mason. But the Preds were slightly injured, and San Jose was just a bit stronger. I like the Sharks, but I don't see them...
