Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

Despite what he said in the article, teams do have trouble making ice in hot weather. It's bad in Toronto in the spring - how bad would it be in Phoenix at the end of June?

The NBA & NHL will...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

Wow

Moving hockey season back a month is a terrible idea. Nobody wants to watch hockey in July.

Shootouts in the playoffs? Nope, never.

On TSN they were stating how it's a MANDATORY 2+ game suspension, it's just not possible to give a 1 game suspension under the rules. So it should have been 0 or 2+.

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

I saw the replay, and that was a tough one. TSN showed an extreme closeup this morning that looked like a tiny slice of white ice was showing. I think it probably should have counted. Oddly...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

I really like Pierre McGuire. I've never seen him on NBC, but he does a good job on TSN. He's a little hyper sometimes, but he really knows his stuff, and explains himself very well.

His radio...

Re: The Official NHL Playoffs Thread

I saw that Rachunek replay once. Myself, my father-in-law & brother-in-law all agreed it was a no goal. So much so that we barely discussed it, and nobody likes ragging on refs more than they do.
