Re: Flopped a straight on a three-flush board - line problems?

Seems good given your description. The only debateable street to me seems to be the turn, and since BB loves to donk bet, we might as well charge button for whatever A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif...

Re: Friday Night Lights Season 2

The point is not that high schools can't fire their coach it's just that they don't and they just kind of seemed to put the lawsuit against the board in there and then just ended that sub-plot...

If this offer still stands, I'll take you up on it . . . if it's too late, no big deal.

Re: K9s in Blind defense.

When he bets that turn he has a hand because the J and Q might have paired him and if not he has like 9 T / K T / A K. Lower pocket pairs usually would check that turn plus gutshots too. Turn c/r...

Re: Another hand from LAG-land

Calling to rep an A is ok I guess but once he calls your turn raise the river seems spewey.

Also I'm not sure I'd raise the turn once he bets again.

Also, lags don't think like this.

Re: AJ gets counterfeited, river line?

B/F, a lot of the busted straight and flush draws people are saying he'd bet also contain a J.

Will we get bluff raised? Probably not because villan will think we have a K or A that we want to...

Re: Winning in Tough Hold \'em Games Study Group - Day One

Another example - let's say we're 3 seats off the button and spew monkey is in the BB again. Would we rather play JQ os or 55 or does this not matter? Stox, according to his guidelines suggests...

Re: Winning in Tough Hold \'em Games Study Group - Day One

Also, how we are defining "post-flop expectation?" That if we feel the 55 vpip spews post-flop we should add hands to our range because we get more value? If this is so, it is also true that the...

Re: Winning in Tough Hold \'em Games Study Group - Day One

I disagree to a certain extent that this is a "basic" introduction to pf play. You might have heard several posters here state that you must adjust your pf strategy according to your opponent and...

Re: ***SSSH Official NC/LC Thread September***

Pizzle, I'm pretty sure the Theory of Poker thread will be coming in "books and publications" today, at least the sign up thread was there and the creator said he'd be staring a new thread for the...

Re: Hand in which I fold TPSK for one bet on the river

It's not blargamel because I think we would b/f after c/c turn.

Re: hey

The flop play is obviously debateable and Nina is right. SB should have c/r'd. And yes I know we're giving up initiative.

In fact, I think you can make a case for check / raising the turn after...

Re: River bluff in a large, unprotected pot

I disagree that we usually have UTG beat. He's probably a moron and checked the turn with 77 / 88 because he got scared of the pf action.

Re: 3 hands vs same villain

Hand 1 - Muck pf until you develop a read I think. I 3 bet the flop, but folding can't be that bad.

Hand 2 - I initially thought b/f or c/c but not like this, however A x is the only thing that...

Re: JJ in capped pot

At this point there's no reason for us to think our hand is no good - and we lose just as much value by playing this passively as we do flat lose by playing this aggressively and being behind to AA I...

Re: Calldowns vs lagtard

Hand 1 - This seems like leader's KQ hand from a few days ago, in the sense that if we check the turn we don't necessarily mind free cards or villan betting, plus we have outs so maybe c/c down.

Re: Commong and annoying flop spot

No bd flush draw pushes this to a fold on the flop I would think.

The K and Q are horrible cards if we continue because we have to invest a BB drawing somewhat thin plus they might taint our A...

Re: Flop GS vs. LAG steal

We want him to fold and he probably won't. A flop c/r can get very messy.

C/C flop forces him into bigger mistakes on the turn if we lead the turn improved.

I think passive is the way to go...

Re: A8s flops top pair on a scary board in a 3way pot.

Not sure, but in order to play it the way he did, let's say A x, x being anything, any two broadways, and I guess that's it.

Still might be a muck, but our outs might be clean on the turn and we...

Re: A8s flops top pair on a scary board in a 3way pot.

If sb has been sitting long enough to know that mp is maniacal, how can we really fold this?
