Re: How to calculate most profitable move???

And the answer was to raise $150, and fold if villian goes all in?

Re: TOP: HU on the end concepts

Interesting, you interpreted the "shouldn't" as applying to the "villian's range".

I was trying to apply the "shouldn't" to "my hand"

The example by Jay and yourself implied that the decision...

OK, thanks for all the explanation, but there is still a nagging thought in my mind.

Do we have to consider pot odds when we are first to act, and deciding between a bet or check?...

Re: TOP: HU on the end concepts

That's odd, because without the bet, you don't have fold equity.

Re: TOP: HU on the end concepts

No Jay, that doesn't make sense.

Your example gives the "first to act" player a ton of fold equity which your 20/19 ignores.

Re: BAD BEAT JACKPOT

UB's Bad Beat Jackpot will have a short lifespan.

Started on the 24th. Hit on the 26th, and again on the 27th.

Both times it was Quads vs Royal.

There isn't enough action between wins for...

Re: Are ANY two cards mathematically playable with huge pot odds?

[ QUOTE ]
If the pot odds were good enough, I would call with NO cards, and just hold my big hands in front of me on the felt and hope the dealer didn't notice.

Re: Are ANY two cards mathematically playable with huge pot odds?

how do you find yourself in a situation where you only have to call $20 into a $480 pot?

1) you have 24 opponents?
2) you only have $20, which means your $20 doesn't get you a shot at the...

Re: Pocket Aces vs. Pocket Kings Heads -up

if we assume you've already looked at your cards and see the KK, then your opponent has a 6/1225 (approx 1/204) chance of having AA.

If you haven't looked at your cards yet, then the odds are...

Re: What are the odds of pocket aces beating pocket aces?

Actually he asked 3 questions.

1) The title question.

It's not specific about who's AA wins or loses, so the answer is more like 4.34619%

2) How often will one opponent have AA if you have...

Re: Hole in one odds from Yahoo news story

17 million to 1 makes sense when you consider it's filtered through journalists.

The "raw data" showed approximately 528 million rounds, and 100 thousand holes in one.

The math guy estimated 4...

Re: Hole in one odds from Yahoo news story

From my experience a normal course 18 holes of par 3, 4 and 5's has either 2, or 3 par 3s, and the same number of par 5's

There are some 9 hole courses, and some of those that are all par 3's.

Re: Win rate with optimal strategy against limit raise bot

Lets assume an sb = $1.00.

You are dealt 9s8h, you call $0.50, the bot raises to $2.00, and you call.

At that point the pot is $4, and you've put in $2.00 of it.

The flop comes JcTd2s.

Re: Win rate with optimal strategy against limit raise bot

from the BB, you should be able to stop at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 bets postflop.

0 = check, fold
1 = check, call
2 = bet, call
3 = check, bet, call
4 = bet, bet, call

Re: Win rate with optimal strategy against limit raise bot

Programming language is Delphi (Pascal)

It takes about 12 mins per preflop hand so it's about 1.5 days of computing.
