Re: 100 NL - Lost on the river...

As played, definite river fold. Both c/c and b/f are OK lines, it certainly can be argued one way or another (also depends on your risk preference). But if you take the line of leading the river,...

Re: 1/2 NL live nut straight sees river pair

Also, you said you raise to $6 to mix-up your play. In small stakes NL games (especially SHALLOW stack NL games), you are costing yourself much money by doing this. Nobody is paying attention, and...

Re: 1/2 NL live nut straight sees river pair

I agree with the comments about the preflop play. As the game is extremely shallow (there are many loose players with 20BB stacks around!), forget about all pot-sweetening preflop or other fancy...

Re: 1/2 NL live nut straight sees river pair

Just lead the turn for maximum value. Carry on from there.

Re: NL 100 my trips runs into heat.

Some villains automatically bet when you induce a bluff. Unless he's a rock nit, I think you to pay him off.

Re: NL100: QQ donked into onto river

Shoving is bad. Against this nitty opponent, everything that you beat folds. A simple call will do.

Re: 100NL - Set + Open Push?

When you overbet like this, you are just forcing your opponents to play correctly. That's not maximizing EV.

Re: fold kk ..live 2-5

Never fold KK with 100BB in live games.

Re: Coments on this hand

Turn check is bad. You need to size your bets in all 3 streets in such a way so that you can get your entire stack in play by the showdown. How else are you going to stack your opponent?

Re: Should i just fold here on the flop ?? TPWK

Calling to re-evaluate turn is probably just slightly more +EV against against this laggy player. I would think he can check-raise any piece of the flop plus draws.

Re: AQs vs a Reg - i hate making big folds

There's a fair chance you're probably behind if he's timid postflop. Call and re-evaluate river, give yourself a chance to hit one of your ten-ish outs.

Re: I can only beat a bluff on the river - is it worth a call? $100 N

Perhaps I'm giving him way too much credit for multiple level thinking for the average $100NL player, not sure.

You are definitely overthinking this and are giving them...

NL 100 - Overpair on JJJQ board

Villain is 26/5/1.0 in a large sample and is weak tight passive. He likely has AQ, and almost never raises draws. What's the best line on the turn?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed)...

Re: 100NL reraised pot with TT: overpair vs. TAG

Argh, this is truly awkward but I think you need to let this one go. Does he double-barrel lightly OOP? Calling this on the turn is no good as he'll likely pound the river whether he has the goods or...
