Re: Biggest regular casino PLO game in the USA?

On the weekends, the Beau Rivage in Biloxi regularly runs a 10-25 PLO with a mandatory Mississippi straddle ($50 on the button). Sometimes they have a 50-100 PLO game going as well.

I also know...

Re: Laptop for Taking Notes in Class

90% of law school students take notes on their laptop (myself included). But I strongly suggest disabling your internet access while you are in class because it is a huge distraction.

Re: Post the most viscous fight you have witnessed

Two years ago at Harrahs in New Orleans during the WSOP circuit event. Young local (kind of thuggish) Asian guy in my 20-40 game had just returned to the table from dinner. He told his friend who...

Re: Poker in Mississippi, the south coast - (please help)

The Beau has 2-5 NLH all the time and usually 5-10 NLH on the weekends. The regular PLO game on the weekends is 10-25 (not sure about during the week). I have also seen 25-50 and 50-100 PLO on the...

Re: Limit Omaha Hi - general advice wanted

I have a lot of experience playing 15-30 and 25-50 Limit Omaha Hi at Harrahs in New Orleans. I think the advice of most of the above posters is dead-on.

Most games I have played in are very...

Yeah, generally PLO plays deeper than NLHE. I would say 200bbs would be my average buyin.

But like JP said, it depends on the texture of the game. Also, say you have 400bbs to play with. Do you...

Re: harras 15/30

Yeah, I have not seen a 15-30 HE game in a month. There was a 15-30 O(High)/HE going on one Friday night in early August. The 15-30 Omaha game goes regularly on Tuesday and Friday.

Play at Harrah's. It is the only place worth playing.

And nowadays with only low limit action and a $6 rake per hand, it's almost not worth playing there...

Re: What\'s up with Josh Arieh Lately?

FWIW, I played with Josh at Beau Rivage on Labor Day weekend. We were playing 10-25 PLO with a mandatory $50 Mississippi straddle (i.e. - a straddle on the button). He later moved to a 25-50 PLO...

Re: Beau Rivage Trip Report

Some stuff I forgot about:

The NL games have a time charge of $6 per dealer down. The PLO games had a collection pot for the rake, but I never really figured out how that exactly works. The...

Beau Rivage Trip Report

So I was very excited that the Beau added a pokerroom because I am so [censored] sick of playing NL holdem. Players in Biloxi (and the state of Mississippi in general) love to play PLO and LHE with...

Take I-10.

Stop at The Beau Rivage in Biloxi - just opened this week, so the action must be good.

Don't have the game in a strip mall where all the stores are closed at night, and therefore there should not be twenty cars in the parking lot. Location is key. Keep it small (2, maybe 3 tables)...

Live 5-10 at Harrahs New Orleans

Good game. I bought in for $1200 and am up to $2500 in about 2 hours. Villain in this hand is very tight and is not likely to make a move. He has $900 and I cover.

Re: Harrahs New Orleans - Trip Report (Bitter) - With an Interesting Rule

Changing the limits in the 5-10 to 10-25 is standard operating procedure at Harrahs. Most of those players all know each other, so it's like their home game. A lot floormen (in various casinos)...
