0.50 NL- 4 Bet Jacks Out of the Blind

I just started playing 6-max NL, transitioning from so-so results at full ring-
I've been playing 20/ 13/ 2.5 and generally don't get out of line.
Villain is about 16/14/4.75- seems rather nitty....

Re: photography buffs, help me buy a DSLR camera

Have you thought about Pentax or Sony at all? The reason to go with one of those make, IMO, is for image based sensor stabilization, which would be great on fast lenses for low light work. Nikon and...

Re: photography buffs, help me buy a DSLR camera

Nikon definitely has momentum in the DSLR market now. The D3 and D300 look to be extremely good. Canon is famous for its expensive, white telephoto lenses, while Nikon is generally well regarded...

Re: nl 100, I played my AA extremely passive. line check.

What's calling your river shove on that board that you beat?

Bet this flop 100% and push turn, or check turn and push river if he checked behind the turn

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/26 - 500k buyin pt 4 - Spoilers all o

Farha had a monster in that hand against Antonius. He played it fine, trying to raise it and fold him while probably having a ton of equity on the flop in case he got moved in? He just got unlucky...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/26 - 500k buyin pt 4 - Spoilers all o

The difference for Doyle was that in the second hand he knows for a fact he's not drawing dead. The hand with Gold, he might have been.

That seems bog standard, except for the flat call which I think is totally fine alternative in how to play it. What am I missing?

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/26 - 500k buyin pt 4 - Spoilers all o

Yeah. That was such a cool moment. I guess 10 grand isn't much to him at these stakes, but the speed with which he called the pot sized bet was insulting. It was a final kick in the pants to Gold...

Re: KK against thinking opponent

No one wants to block the river to prevent weird K-J or Q-J holdings from bluffing us out?

Re: JJ overpair. what\'s your standard play?

If you're not raising that flop, what flop are you raising that doesn't have a Jack in it?

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/26 - 500k buyin pt 4 - Spoilers all o

Do you think if Doyle did not have the nut redraw, he would have called against Guy in the Ace crappy kicker hand?

Doyle vs. Guy

Anyone have any thoughts on the Doyle/Guy hand with K-4 against A-Q, with the final board something like K-5-5-Q-2 with 3 spades on there and Doyle calls the fairly big river bet? Is Guy a bluffing...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/5 - 500k buyin - Spoilers expected)

Flush over flush is one of the most profitable situations to be in- but do people honestly think Gold was going broke with, say, the 3 high flush in that situation if no spade comes on the river? ...

Re: Foxwoods 1/2 NL game

I played the 2-5 last Friday, and that game was ridiculous, 7 handed to the flop for $30 was fairly standard. Several of the players were terrible, and there was even a bluffing station. Did I just...

Re: Star $100- A-Q on draw heavy board with K on board

I guess value- I would definitely have checked behind had I been in position for pot control. The turn bet was more of a bet I made not to lose control of the hand and have to face two large bets...

Re: NL 0.5/1 : Standard play with big draw?

The goal is to fold him- calling the all in is very high variance- technically probably ahead, but coinflipping.

Re: Star $100- A-Q on draw heavy board with K on board

Villain showed A-K, MHING. Other than the possible river check (call decent sized bet after bluff induction?), should I really be betting more on flop (3/4 pot) and turn (50% of pot) when I am not...

Stars $100- A-Q on draw heavy board with K on board

Wasn't sure what to do here, didn't think I was beating a whole hell of a lot- had I been raised I was done with the hand. Anyone have a better line? I tried to block the river.

Villain is...

Re: Floating...is this ever a good idea?

Re: Aces facing Agression

I tend to bet on the smaller side- I guess I should work on it, but most of the time 2/3 of the pot or less works fine, and the bet here is around 60%, so it's not super small.

Re: Aces facing Agression

Nothing special- I raise quite a bit from the back, but not a particularily large amount right before this.
