The EV of the game is $15.38. If you charge $20 per go at this you stand to profit.

Re: Is my use of binomial distribution correct?

I'm not really sure why it's called a progressive parlay. A regular parlay only pays out if you're perfect, where as a progressive parlay pays a smaller amount if you miss one (or more) games. I...

Re: Why don\'t the sports books just move the line?

[ QUOTE ]
It can be for risk management purposes to avoid getting sided on a number.

If I'm understanding you correctly, wouldn't upping the line do the same thing?

Why don\'t the sports books just move the line?

What's the reasoning behind sites giving, let's say -3 at -150, instead of just moving the line to a higher number? They're basically saying they think the -3 is too low, so why don't they just up...

Re: What am I screwing up?

Hitting ten reds is a 164-to-1 shot because (3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5*3/5) = .006, or 164-to-1, right?

Re: What am I screwing up?

I got my numbers by saying "If hitting 10 in a row is a 164-to-1 shot, and it costs $10 to play, then even money should pay out $1640." Is this wrong?

Do you find the \"Big Crunch\" comforting?

As atheists, do you find the idea of a 'big crunch' (and a forever oscillating universe) more comforting than the idea of a cold dying universe?

I personally do and don't know why.
