I don't like it when people get all huffy about the guy waiting to hit the green in 2 on a par five. Of course he's rarely gonna do it (he's not a pro), but if he can hit it far enough, it's better...

I think this is a geographical thing. If you are going to "play golf" it screams amateur to me. I always say I'm going to golf.
