River was checked to me, 4 handed, everyone missed their draws, me included. I fired with 9 high and everyone folded. I flipped over my busted straight. Older guy across the table:

Re: Does your significant other mind poker?

I guess I am lucky. She enjoys playing 2/4 in the casino, while lets me play NL or whatever I want. She only gets annoyed if I go too often, but even then says I am an adult. But usually, she's right...

Re: NYC poker: safety and legalization

I work in NYC and live over the river in NJ. I've never looked for an underground club because I always worried about not just my own safety, but the chance of it being busted. Yeah, I know the drive...

Loosest game in AC you\'ve ever seen?

I've been reading about all the loose action on Caesers in AC on weekends. I decided to give it a shot on Sat. I sit down with 200. First hand I was in the CO with Js5d and threw it away to a $20...

Re: Dead Game?

I asked a dealer about it in AC last week, and he was pretty sure no room in AC had the license to deal it.

Re: Taking notes at a live game

I think mental notes should be sufficient, but that is how my own head works. I will notice things that someone does and it burns a wrinkle into my brain (as long as I'm sober lol). As an opposing...

Harrah\'s AC trip report

I haven't seen a Harrah's AC trip report on here in a while so I thought I'd share. I usually play at Harrah's, and never see them get much props. Actually my trip report was two separate runs on...

Re: Best Place to Live and Play

Having grown up in Toms River, Im a huge fan of the Jersey shore. While the traffic can be nightmarish certain times of the week, its great living 45-50 minutes from AC poker.

Housing costs in...

Table image and cards

This is one of my questions I have for live play. I have played in about 15 or 16 live sessions, and in my last one I only brought 100 bucks with me so I sat down to 2/4.

We only had 7 or 8...

Re: AC and red chips in small limit games? and AC bus questions

I prefer white chips over the red birds playing 2/4 limit. Something psychological about playing with 50 white chips versus 10 red chips, especially if you are short stacked. I dont know why, but its...

Re: All in, muck...

A muck is a muck is a muck. The only chance you have at making any hand is keeping your cards in front of you until the hand is dead. I don't know what the offical, technical rule is either, but I...

Re: How do you prepare for a session?

[ QUOTE ]
I feel like when I start my sessions with a confident, winning attitude, those prove to be the most profitable. I guess this should be obvious. However there are times I just decide to...

Re: AC closing in on Vegas?

While I agree with most people's replies that AC can never BE or exceed Las Vegas, AC is making improvements by the leaps. Now a large part of the city became outlets and shopping, areas that used to...

Re: Playing 2/4... breaking even

[ QUOTE ]

It's quite profitable, if you know what you are doing. You can never sustain the type of win rate (at least before the rake) in tougher games that you can get in the lowest stakes live...

Re: Playing 2/4... breaking even

[ QUOTE ]
What is the rake structure in the cardroom you play at? Many B&M 2/4 games are exceedingly difficult to beat simply because of the rake, and if that's the case here then you're doing...

Playing 2/4... breaking even

Hello all, great forums here. I've read a lot of great stuff here in the few days I've been browsing.

Re: Limit Holdem in AC

1. Well if you base it on the size of a standard pre-flop or post flop raise/bet in NL, I'd def agree 5/10 limit is very close in terms of stakes.
