You should buy Ed Millers; Getting Started in Hold'em. It's an excellent book for beginners.

$50 would be right for the smallest nl cash games around, nl2 (1/2 cent blinds), I think UB has them. Whether you play cash/sng's is just a matter of preference.

In the mornings. You could check out a cryptologic skin, lots of UK players and most of them are really bad.

I played at AP before, it was kind of a rockfest. The games were ofcourse still beatable, but there are way better pokersite out there. I would move to another site if I were you.
