Re: Review, Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy (Tanenbaum)

Dave Fromm also spoke extensively about the "illusion of action" in his shorthanded "Expert Hold 'em" DVD series and that was some time back.

Re: Help on book selection?

Call raises and then massive re-raises with 82s, flop trips and then write about it? Open limp every hand including Kings, Aces, Queens etc because you "don't raise on the strength of your hand"?

Stox is doing a NL book!

Wow, awesome news over at Stoxpoker. I think that if there is one person in the poker world whose advice is almost beyond questioning (I know- probably not a good thing) it's Stox.

Re: Review, Advanced Limit Holdem Strategy (Tanenbaum)

Mason makes some great points here and what he's saying does seem to refute to some extent the validity of Tanenbaum's assertions.

TT, given the lively discussion we had previously concerning the...

Re: Tanenbaum or Stox?

Fromm's DVD's are great but they do contradict some of Stox's/ Borers advice. Things like just cold calling raises in the small blind with hands that play well multiway instead of 3 betting when...

Re: Limit Hold\'em: Winning Short-Handed Strategies...

It is a superb book. For "normal" players it is probably more useful and applicable than Stox's book. Stox's book remember, is geared towards tough games and tough opponents whereas this book covers...

Professional No Limit Hold \'em Vol 2- not to be?

I was just browsing the members only forum over at Stox poker and there was a thread asking some question about SPR's as outlined in the Flynn/ Mehta PNL book. Later in the thread another poster says...

Re: Anything out there specifically on limit tournaments?

Play poker like the pros by Phil Hellmuth. Now before you start laughing out loud and calling me an idiot, I am almost 100% that Mason Malmuth, in his review of this book, did say that the limit...

Re: Tanenbaum or Stox?

Definitely get the SH D&B book. IMO it is the best material available on SH play anywhere. By the way, which sites do you play at where you are seeing 50-60% to a flop? I might come and play there...

Re: A Question for Limit Hold\'em Players

Re: A Question for Limit Hold\'em Players

The new D&B shorthanded book by Terry Borer, Lawrence Mak and Barry Tanenbaum is the best material available when it comes to shorthanded play and is a must have for any limit player.

Re: johnny chan\'s limit hold em book

The book is junk. The only people who could possibly claim it's any good are die hard Johnny Chan fans. Don't waste your time.
