Re: 40/80, TT, what to do?

I've played a lot with Lee. I'm calling this flop and folding turn unimproved. She probably gives me more action than she would to many others, but even so I think you get 3-bet with any Q pretty...

Re: Bay 101 Propping?

I've also been told that the 40/80+ props are required to sit in 3-handed games if the other two players want to keep playing. Doesn't happen often, but it resulted in a terrible spot for one of the...

Re: Mid Limit Holdem Games in the Bay Area

I haven't played the AJs game very recently, but in the past it's been juicy as hell, softplay or not. It doesn't matter much that the regulars are checking it down when the best of them are limping...

Re: San Jose: more tables and No Limit action in 2008?

I talked to Mike and another red badge (Mark?) tonight. They said negotiations with the city will resume Dec. 11. They're trying to get unrestricted back line betting, the ability to stay open 24...

Re: Flop bet

I get about a 23% chance that there are no queens in the 16 cards out against me given random hands. Someone might want to check my math on that. You can shade that down a bit given that a couple...

Flop bet

Very good live 40 game. Blinds are decent, everyone else is some form of bad, mostly tending towards loose passive with a maniac or two sprinkled in. UTG limps. I limp next in with...

Re: September Low-Content Thread

I've been playing at Garden City lately because the 40 game there is just too good to pass up. Today I finally manage to get back to Bay 101 and I'm worried that the game's going to be tough, at...

Re: Had him right where I wanted him......I thought.

I think betting the turn is far superior to checking. I'm much happier calling down a turn c/r than wondering if I should call down a river 3-bet. You don't mention how bad villain is postflop, but...

Re: I hate this spot

Add one more vote for check-call flop. In most cases I'm calling this one all the way down unimproved. I might fold a K/Q/spade river. K/Q because it hits a good portion of the range you're ahead...

Re: It\'s going to be impossible to protect my hand

Given that you're willing to cap it preflop, why not just make it 3 to begin with?

Re: bay101 roll call

[ QUOTE ]
Supposedly the 20/40 games are infested with 2p2ers but you'd never guess it from playing there.

[/ QUOTE ]
Agree. I feel like I make money in almost any lineup at 20.

Re: Call this down? San Jose 20/40

I'm surprised at the people who don't like preflop. I raise this preflop every time in this situation. One, you've almost certainly got an equity advantage over the field in a game that has 4...

Re: Nicest Poker Room in the US

I'll add to the chorus of voices in this thread in saying that I really like the Wynn. Strictly based on looks of the place and not quality of games/dealers/environment, I'd also nominate Artichoke...

Re: 20/40 - How\'d I play K4s?

This looks absolutely fine to me. Against an unknown I'll take a free showdown, and against some folks I'd bet the river for value. Preflop's a bit loose but I don't think it's horrible. I'm...

Re: Eastbay California for a week, where to play poker???

http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Casinos:California

Casino San Pablo and the California Grand both have small NL games. The Oaks has 15/30 and 30/60 limit, the Grand has 12/24 limit. For big NL,...

Re: Best LHE in the USA???

I'm another regular in the 20/40 and 40/80 games at Bay 101, and I basically agree with everything Sucker and Analyst have said in this thread. If there are teams working those games, I haven't...

Re: folding an overpair for one bet on the flop

Suppose UTG's range for his preflop raise is something like TT+/AQ+/AJs+. I don't know if that's it exactly, but I know that he'll limp with KJs/A9s/88 type hands, so it's not much wider than that. ...

folding an overpair for one bet on the flop

Live 40. I think my part in this hand isn't all that interesting, but I'll post the entire hand anyways. Mostly interested in UTG's hypothetical hand. UTG is a former prop and probably one of the...

Re: Say Francisco/San Jose Rooms?

You'll have a much easier time getting a seat at Garden City than Bay 101. Depending on where you are, you may want to consider 6/12 at Artichoke Joe's or Lucky Chances.

Re: AA for two cold on the river

I would add that as villain in this hand, I would raise this river with 77 very often given the way the action went. Not that hero necessarily knows that.

AA for two cold on the river

I'm the villain in this hand, but I'm interested in comments on hero's line. Hero thinks villain is decent, but hasn't played much with him.

Live 20/40. Hero and Villain have overs buttons that...

Re: Artichoke Joe\'s @ San Bruno 15/30 limit game: thoughts?

I haven't played this game in some time, but when I did, it was a great game. I highly recommend giving it a shot. I've never seen more than 2 good players in the game.

Also, I love the eel in...

Re: common situation

You've posted both blinds, so UTG+1's range has opened up a bit with extra dead money in the pot. Your hand is too good to fold for one more bet, you're in position, good things happen when you put...

Re: Bay101 mid-limit action during the tourney?

I've been there in the 20/40 and 40/80 the past two nights, and the games I've been in have been worse than usual. Lists aren't that bad, especially if you call in.

Re: give up or stab?

Where'd I say he was a fish? He's possibly a breakeven 40/80 player in this room, and likely a winning 20/40 player when he plays that low. He may be generally too loose and too passive, but he's...
