Re: Is it possible to just be an unlucky person?

I felt I had a similar thing so I recorded in a spreadsheet, on a monthly basis, every single hand where the pot was >80% of a buyin and I poker stoved every hand exactly to get an exact equity.

Oldest of two. I'm risk averse and concerned about meeting expectations. My brother is less so and this model fits quite well.

Re: What would you do?

The fact that you're up big is enough of a distraction for you to start making poor decisions. If you can put those thoughts to one side and focus purely on the hands, relevant history and relative...

Re: Friend is late for everything

I've got a friend who is exactly like this. I've only lived in this area for a short while so often it's just me and him going to the pub or something.

Anyway, I tend to plan something else to do...

Re: 66 vs Ultra LAG

As much as I agree Pokey is pretty much the best poster ever, I'm not sure I would advocate calling down all the way (though I'm not he is either just noting the required brassy balls)

My...

Re: mid/low pairs preflop

In a 6 max game with little chance of light 3-betting raising over the limpers is good with all pairs except maybe 22,33 although some do those too (just my preference). Reasons:

- take down pot...

Re: BluffThis and Chezlaw\'s Weird Philosophical Contortions

Could I venture that this is the difference between accomplises and bystanders.

The 8 are bystanders and not required for the kill. They're just unfortunately in the wrong place at the time. Much...

Re: Top 2 pair gets shoved on turn

I'd fold and wait for a better spot unless I've seen him bluff shove or he's shoved frequently, i.e a read of some sort other than he's pretty aggressive.

Spurious misses out QJ combos. If he's...

Re: AA, flopped nut flush draw, facing all-in reraise
