Re: i\'m doing this more and more

James,

Just curious why you open with 44 but not 33 or 22. It can't be because of pot equity. Any pp has to be a favorite against three random hands, no?

Re: Adjusting to a bad streak.

"I have been running bad the last week. Fortunately, I have broke pretty close to even."

Sorry but I stopped reading here. You play break even poker for a week and whine about it? Try posting...

Re: OK lets get this ball rolling (AP)

Another possibility is that someone has access to a router near the server and that they are packet sniffing to get the hole cards of the other players. I'm sure the packets are encrypted but if you...

Re: Taking shots at higher limits

No one wins 90% of their sessions. That's insane.

Re: To Induce, or Not to Induce

Can we please have Tomlin back? We'll give you Childress and a first round pick.

Re: Winrate at an extremely juicy, loose passive live game

Interesting. I never raise JTs or QJs from the blinds. Although to be fair I should have added TT and AJs+ to my original post. I really don't like playing out of position so I tend to play rather...

Re: Winrate at an extremely juicy, loose passive live game

What range of hands should I be raising from the blinds assuming 3-4 limpers?

Re: Winrate at an extremely juicy, loose passive live game

Sternroolz,

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I would say that the games are fairly passive and I do play drawing hands from early position.

I do not play drawing hands strongly in late...

Re: Winrate at an extremely juicy, loose passive live game

I never meant to imply that I've been unlucky, just that I only win 5-6 hands per 100. I am usually the tightest player at the table but when I do play I'm very aggressive. It's been a long time...

Re: Winrate at an extremely juicy, loose passive live game

You win 8-9 hands per 100? I am a LOT lower than that. I figure that in 100 hands I might see 25-30 flops and of those hands I maybe win 5-6. Either you play a lot more hands than I do, or you...

Re: Tough Canterbury 4/8 session... review some hands

ChipHustle,

If you disrespect their raises, you should be re-raising not cold calling. If they are raising with 78o you want to get it heads-up if possible where your KJ is a huge favorite. Your...

Re: Tough Canterbury 4/8 session... review some hands

In these loose games I rarely raise unsuited aces if there's already a few limpers. It pretty much takes two pair or better to win so you might as well see the flop as cheaply as possible.

Re: Tough Canterbury 4/8 session... review some hands

Porkchop,

Just curious why you think the 6/12 is better if it's tighter. Don't you want a loose game?

Re: Two PP hands, 66 and 99

TripleH,

In your earlier post you seemed to be advocating cold calling rather than raising. Are you saying that folding is the best option here? i.e. folding > cold calling > raising? I really...

Re: Two PP hands, 66 and 99

kyzerjose,

I'm not sure I'm following you. Are you saying you don't like a raise if the limpers will fold? For me that is the only reason I would consider raising. I either want to play the...

Re: Two PP hands, 66 and 99

kyzerjose, I think I'm with TripleH on this one. I'd rather play my 9s against 6-7 opponents than 3-4. If I knew that raising would get it heads-up it would be an easy raise.

On the 66 hand I...

Re: At what point does the jackpot become a factor in preflop decision

Agreed, but what I'm saying is that the EV of 72o is probably < 0.01 where the EV of 33 is probably about 0.50 if the jackpot gets big enough. The question is at what point does the EV get big...

Re: At what point does the jackpot become a factor in preflop decision

Thinking about it some more, since there are two hands involved in every bad beat, the odds are more like 1 in 100,000 which doubles the EV from 0.17 to about 0.35 for the example above. Am I way...

At what point does the jackpot become a factor in preflop decisions

There must be a point where if the jackpot gets big enough, it would make sense to make some loose calls with pocket pairs and suited connectors.

For example, the jackpot at my card room normally...

Two PP hands, 66 and 99

Loose passive live 3/6 LHE game.

I'm in middle position with 66. UTG raises all-in, two cold calls. I look to my left and see another guy with a short stack counting out a raise. It looks like...

Re: Why do the Live Players......

I don't see this at all at my cardroom. Last Friday I played 4/8 at Canterbury. I switched tables 4 times and couldn't find a decent table. Every table was pretty tight with very few unraised...

Re: Favorite Poker Room in Vegas?

You can usually rent a car for about $20/day in Vegas. Of course if you like to drink while you're playing this can be a problem.

Re: Local card room vs Vegas

Exactly. I too win more than I lose but I'm certainly not crushing the games. If you are crushing these games you are probably just running good.

I knew a post like this was just a matter of time. I'm not crushing the game so I obviously suck. Yes, I have been in a few games like you describe but they are few and far between, at least on the...
