Re: Stars 1/2 - Are my stats terrible?

I'm surprised that the attempt to steal blinds percentage is so low if you steal with the hands that you described earlier in the post. I would expect it to be nearer forty percent.
What is your...

Re: stars 1/2 - qq in capped preflop pot with k on flop

The check raise is close, but might be worthwhile to get UTG2 out if he has the ace of diamonds when he has just about got the odds to call one bet but not two.
If you raise the flop, the decision...

Re: 88 at flop A66 and donk bet

Limping gives you a decent chance of three opponents if the SB completes and there is no reason why CO or the button won't limp in also. Your opponent seems to be tight, so raising is less attractive...

Re: 88 at flop A66 and donk bet

Don't know about it being standard. It certainly isn't what is recommended in SSHE. The only time that it advocates raising 88 is from late position against one loose limper. The limper in this case...

Re: 88 at flop A66 and donk bet

In middle position I just call this pre-flop. I fold the flop without too much thought. One of them has us beaten.

Re: .10/.20 pstars

A number of people have suggested checking the flop with a view to check raising here. I would question this. With four people having put in two bets pre-flop, the pot is already large. We should...

Re: .10/.20 pstars

I would love to know that UTG had when he folded to the raise on the flop.
I think that you played the hand fine until the river. I would also donk the flop in the hope that UTG might raise with...

Re: weak one card OESD?

When you have a largish pot like this, your first priority is to win the hand rather than attract callers for when you hit your draw. You raise the flop in the hope that you might persuade someone...

Re: Stars 1/2 KJs from small blind

Would a tight passive player still be in the hand with AQ and no diamond? I doubt it, otherwise he does not fit with the read that has been provided for him. The check raise on the flop told him that...

Re: 88

I don't think that you are strong enough to raise here, and I don't know whether you would want to take a free card on the turn even if it were available to you. I think I just call and re-evaluate...

Re: AKo UI versus Lags

Against LAG opponents you might still be ahead here so I bet the turn. I call a raise and check/fold the river if I don't improve.

Re: top two in huge pre-flop capped pot

Pre-flop is OK. QJs plays well multi-way, so I would be happy to limp along in middle position.
On the flop you know that you are behind to MP3 for sure and probably BB as well. He led out into a...

Re: Stars 1/2 KJs from small blind

What hand do you put villain on when you bet the river? He raised pre-flop but went into call down mode when you check raised him on the flop. I think he has something like AQ headed by the Ace of...

Re: c-bet this flop?

Against two opponents I bet here. I hope to get a free card on the turn if my hand doesn't improve.

Re: Flopped trips

Raise for value. It is seldom, if ever, a good idea to slow play trips. Nobody will believe that you have a two anyway.

Re: Stars 1/2 oesd + pair... How do you play these

What happened on the turn?
I just call the bet on the flop. I doubt whether I am ahead and the pot is too small to raised to protect the hand if I am.
Can't comment beyond this.

Re: .50/1 AK unimproved in position against TAG, turn and river play

I bet the turn here. What do you think villain has here? He didn't cap pre-flop, so AA-JJ are unlikely. He is either ahead of you with something like 77-99, maybe two high cards including a 10, or...

Re: A6o SB OESD only a tiny pair on the river

I don't complete in the SB with unsuited aces and weak kickers. Should I be?
I might bet the flop in the hope that it could persuade someone with A7+ to fold, but I'm check calling the turn if I...

Re: Do You Fold the River

Unless I know the pre-flop raise is likely to be a bit loose, I just call here.
Why check the river? I prefer to bet and fold if I get raised.

Re: 99 at Qxx

Seems a sensible line to me. The flop call after the 3 bet is a little loose, but I think you have to do it for meta-game reasons. If you fold every time you are three bet on the flop, some of your...

Re: Gutshot draw gets ugly (shorthanded)

You're getting nine to one which might give you the implied odds to continue if you knew that the betting would end at the three level. Since I think that this betting is going to be capped I fold...

Re: Cry call this river?

Without any read on MP2, I don't iso-raise with this hand. Even if I know he is a fish, I am dubious on the basis that I am behind a lot of aces that he might hold. I raise the flop on the basis that...

Re: AKs w donkbet

After you get 3 bet on the turn, I think it is a call down at best, just in case he is overplaying KQ or similar. Your raise told villain that you probably had AK or better, and he didn't care....

Re: Small pair preflop

Once you limp in you have to keep going after the raise. On a good day the raiser will hit his ace when you hit your set. Then you stand to make a bit of money.
