Re: some omaha (&HL) questions

[ QUOTE ]

Omaha H/L is probably my favorite game to play live, and I'm under the age of 30... Which obviously makes me the exception.

Re: Tropicana Story in Philadelphia Daily News today

Yes it does. I occasionally play the 4/8 game there, it's better than any 3/6 game in AC (and Taj's 5/10) IMHO. I usually play Trop's 5/10 stud, which is also better than Taj's 5/10 games.
I...

The decline started when they refused to compete against the Borgata and the Taj for the poker revenue. They should have expanded the room to the outer slot bank with about another thirty...

Re: Stud 8 / H.O.R.S.E. Live: Where to find a game?

I'm surprised that there isn't a 5/10 HOSE game in AC yet. Especially with all of the old timers at the Taj in the low limit stud/O8 games.

I wonder if there would be enough players at Borgata...

Re: Thanksgiving weekend in AC

On black Friday last year I got to the Taj around noon. It was just starting to get packed. Well, at least the low limit side was.

Re: New AC casino plan approved, PICS

Hopefully, one of the new places (Revel, MGM, Pinnacle) will have a 40+ table room to compete with Borgata & Taj.
IMO, they should take the best aspects of each room (Taj's variety of games and...

Re: What would be good for the Tropicana Atlantic City...

I don't have too much faith in the Trop's management. If they chose to, they could easily be the 3rd best room in AC by a MILE. The upgrades, etc. are a good thing, but they really need a lot of...

Re: Bad Beat Jackpot at Tropicana Atlantic City

Yeah, I'm real curious about the renovations. I wonder how many tables they'll keep ? I'm guessing around 30, give or take a few. I can't see them having the 43 or so that are there now.

Re: AC Stud Buyins?

I'd buy in with $100 for 1/5, $120 for 3/6, and $220 for 5/10.

Lowest spread stud games are 1/5 (Taj), and 3/6 (Trop). Both are no ante games, at least 2 tables at both places. Trop & Taj both...

Re: AC OMAHA HI/LO

I've asked about both the Taj (3/6) & Borgata (10/20) 2 way games on these boards. No one responded to the post regarding the Taj 3/6 game. It does look like fun though, albeit with the old Taj regs....

Re: Foxwoods Stud Question

Doesn't 5/10 at Foxwoods have a $1 ante ? If so, that's a better structure (20% as opposed to 10%) than the AC (Taj, Trop) 5/10 games. I'm surprised that they're that tight.

Re: Thinking of learning stud

It depends where, and which games. I usually play 5/10 at the Trop in AC. I find it looser (and more social) than the Taj 5/10 games. The Trop has their share of old regulars, but seems to attract...

Re: Trop room update

I'm surprised that the Trop had trouble getting at least 1 stud game going. Up until this spring, there was anywhere from 2 to 5 stud tables going on weekdays. On weekends there was at least 4 stud...

Re: Trop room update

IMO, I think they should just consolidate and upgrade what they have now. It's no longer a big player in the AC poker scene. I guess you could put it on the level of the medium-sized rooms like...

Trop room update

I spoke to a floor person there recently (I think his name was Scott ?). He said that the rumors about the room closing weren't true, and that the new location for the poker room won't happen either....

True. I think Foxwoods 5/10 stud has a $1 ante, not sure though.

Taj 3/6 Stud 8/O8

I was thinking of giving the Borgata 10/20 half & half game a shot recently. However, the responses to my post on the B&M forum pretty much told me to avoid it.

So, how's Taj's 3/6 ? What's the...

Borgata 10/20 O8/Stud 8 ?

I'm thinking of giving this game a shot, anyone ever play it before ?
Does it go every day ? Would $400 be enough to start with (20 X BB) ?

Re: Low limit ante/bring in structures stars vs full tilt

Very true. Games like 1/5 w/ a .50 cent ante, and 4/8 w/ a $1 ante are good examples of this.

Re: A survey on rake (time) in each B&M cardrooms

Is there any chance that Borgata will ever spread 5/10 or 10/20 stud again ? In your opinion, what would it take ?

When does the 2/4 O8 game go ?

Re: 1 - 5 stud variance question

I'd recommend the 5/10 at the Trop over Taj. Trop doesn't have autoshufflers (Taj does), and isn't as nice as the Taj (after the upgrades). But, Trop's stud regulars aren't that good IMHO. Also,...

Re: 1 - 5 stud variance question

As you already know, stud (especially low limit) has more short-term variance than hold 'em. I've never played the stud game at Bally's, but I'm assuming that the .50 ante has something to do with...
