Re: Time to Go Pro?

DON'T DO IT. Let me explain.

(1) 80K salary is guaranteed. 100K poker isn't
(2) work history is VITAL on a resume, "pro poker player" on a resume is a DEATH SENTENCE
(3) a real job keeps you...

Re: Why do seemingly good players loose?

[ QUOTE ]
Alot of those 'pros' on tv shouldn't be emulated simply because they suck.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've watched several episodes of High Stakes Poker and some of the guys (esp. Neagranu) have no...

Re: Are you addicted?

Addiction is unhealthy, uncontrolled behaviour.

Usually the "uncontrolled" part is what leads to losses.

Excess hours playing may or may not be unhealthy, depending on the person and his/her...

Re: Getting Cute with AQ UTG in the Stars Million

Kramer, you obviously are a gambler. Sometimes this move will work, and your opponent will fold. Sometimes he will call and you will fluke out on him and beat him. And most times you will be called...

Did you ever consider checking the flop and taking a free card?

Re: Building a bankroll from $1 entry MMT

It's not a bad idea if you are wanting experience. Basically a cheap way to get education. If you are sweating the $50, then really you shouldn't be playing. Wait and save up some money. You will...

Re: Hasan Habib on Calling for Your Entire Stack Early in the WSOP ME

[ QUOTE ]
I think that tournament poker has changed a lot in the last few years and a lot of older tourney pros are clinging to ideas that have been proven wrong. That and they realy suck at poker. ...

Re: Hasan Habib on Calling for Your Entire Stack Early in the WSOP ME

Complete and utter nonsense from Habib.

A reasonable chance to double up quick in a major event is a GODSEND not something to avoid. Imagine the kind of "smallball" game he could play with 22K...

Re: Two Very Questionable Decisions from Deep in Sunday Million ($530)

Op,

You described the original raiser in Hand 1 (QQ) as a donk who recklessly endangers his stack. But what evidence do you have that makes you CONVINCED that raiser #2 has AA or KK? Could he not...

Re: Stars Millions: the hand that eliminated me in 300th

Thanks for the replies. Seems there is no concensus. Some would push. Others would fold. I will have to mull this over some more, in case I find myself in a similar situation next week.

Re: At what point can you fold into a Satellite seat?

I don't think you can ever "fold" your way into a satellite seat unless you are down to the bubble and you have a HUGE chip stack. If people are being nitty tight, then you need to keep stealing...

Re: Stars Millions: the hand that eliminated me in 300th

[ QUOTE ]
This is a standard and good play (blinds are 1500/3000/150 here?.)

The fact that you are asking about it means that you were probably missing a lot of steal and resteal opportunities...

Re: Stars Millions: the hand that eliminated me in 300th

[ QUOTE ]
Stack size and read on BB are kinda REALLY important for this question.

[/ QUOTE ]

My mistake. Post edited. BB had virtually the same stack size, maybe 2K more.

Stars Millions: the hand that eliminated me in 300th

Scenario: Just finished reaching a new pay level good for another 35 spots.

My stack is 38K, blinds plus antes equal 6K per hand. Therefore "M" is about 6.

Everyone folds to me in SB. I moved...

Re: Possibly interesting KK ULT 200k gaur

I would have pushed the flop, rather than checked. Or then reraised his 3200. Check makes Villain think you have nothing, and your call forces him to stay and try to buy the pot, where...

Re: Question about this play.

Op,

I think you have a good handle on the game. Limping with JJ is not the worst thing to do with a middle stack. Besides you could flop a monster and possibly double or triple up. And if the flop...

Re: If the All In is < 10% of your Stack.......

I fold. I'd hate to fatten up the desperate with a foolish hand. All of a sudden, you've doubled him up and now his NEXT double up puts him one third away from YOUR stack. Should he double again (at...
