Re: How long to get fpp products ordered on stars?

Everything I've ordered (possibly just books and Stress Stars) has said it'd take 6 weeks and ended up taking 1-2 weeks. The electronics may be different.

Re: How will part-time players survive a regulated poker site?

As far as the tax issue interacts with the prospects of regulation... I earnestly hope that regulation and increased IRS scrutiny would be a catalyst for overhauling this stupid aspect of poker...

Re: ESPN 360

The common methods of defining "problem gambler" are often loose. The most glaring evidence is the "20 questions" that Gamblers Anonymous provides:

Re: ESPN 360

I didn't see the broadcast in question and don't know the context this statistic was used in, but it doesn't strike me as TOO far off, necessarily... 300 million Americans, ~1% of people have...

Re: another NEW Online U S Gamoing CARD SITE

Right, Skall; in fact I think the backgammon precedent strengthens your argument a lot. The case this gaming site cites implies that the following quote from Magriel was the crucial point of the...

Re: another NEW Online U S Gamoing CARD SITE

This is interesting. The above site also offers backgammon as a "game of skill" and provides a court ruling:

This is the first I've seen of...

Re: Absolute Poker\'s Official Response to \"superuser\" allegations

Anything less than a comprehensive statistical analysis, complete with methodology and numerical likelihood results, is insufficient IMHO. Absolute has had enough time to perform this.

B for sure. Of course us Supernovas who don't play the freerolls will vote B, so the interesting responses will be from those who play the freerolls to some extent.

If the freerolls were to stay,...

Yeah, this argument is absurd, at least from a legislative perspective. Notice that this argument clearly addresses quantitative things (the fact that standard error decreases over a larger sample),...

No, I just meant any cash game where the probability that any given player being in any given position is equal.

For example, a heads-up cash game where an even number of hands was played would be...

Re: Argument: Poker is skill because it matters who you play

I think you need both symmetric and zero-sum to make having a positive expectation sufficient to prove your game is skill based. Unfortunately, poker is neither (if a rake is taken).
