How did it go in the razz event?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not well. In the four hours of play before dinner, my stack hovered between the 3000 starting amount and about 4400, ending up at...

Re: WSOP 5K HORSE - Stud/8 Hand

I woke up this morning and got a little sick to my stomach when I checked the tournament results. The front page of pokernews.com now features the smiling mug of "Stubborn" with his new 5K HORSE...

Re: WSOP 5K HORSE - Stud/8 Hand

On the bright side, today is the Razz event! Hopefully I'll have a few interesting hands or stories - maybe even one or two with results that aren't awful.

Re: WSOP 5K HORSE - Stud/8 Hand

Thanks guys. In talking to others after the hand, it seems that 3-betting fifth is the most questionable play. I didn't really like it either, but I thought I had to get rid of the third player,...

WSOP 5K HORSE - Stud/8 Hand

We are just after dinner on day 2 of the 5K HORSE, playing stud/8. I have 67K chips, average stack is 45ish. Limit is 1500/3000. About 40 players left, 24 make the money.

Dead cards are 3 3 4 K...

Re: Odds of rolled up As against rolled up 5s, both hands fill on 7th

[ QUOTE ]
In a high action 75/150 8-better stud game, I have rolled up Aces against 5 players, raise my Ac, get reraised by 5s, all call, catch 10h, 5s catches Qc, I bet, 5sQc raises all fold, I...

A re-occurring scenario is on 3rd street when I BI with say a J and villain completes something like 90+% of the hands when he has a 8 or lower showing, what should I call with? I usually...

Re: Full Tilt and \"Last Hand\" function

[ QUOTE ]
If the point of hand histories is to be able to see what your opponent had when you go to a showdown, doesn't rearranging it so you can't really know then make it pointless?...

Re: Value bet a 10-6 Razz vs weak ?

I spent a minute trying to figure out whose bring-in you raised.

Don't bring it in for a full bet - ever. Even on the rare occasion short-handed where it might be the right play for a hand in...

If he has you beat already (which is close to 40% of the time!), you are getting three-bet here.

Re: Razz: Defending with a 9 or 10 on 3rd

[ QUOTE ]
I bring-in-re-raise constant stealers with a smooth 9 or better. I feel it is the only option, forcing the villian to define his hand. I only ever call a stealer with a 10 up if I have a 2...

Re: Razz: Defending with a 9 or 10 on 3rd

Excellent analysis, you make some very good points here SG - many of which were my arguments too.

Even though most players' ranges here are very wide (often any 3 cards), not many are folding to a...

Re: 30/60 stud - did I miss a bet?

Raise the end against any reasonably aggressive opponent at this level. It's possible you're beat, but you're a clear favorite even when called against the vast majority of people who'd play...

Razz: Defending with a 9 or 10 on 3rd

3-handed razz. You bring it in with 9(52), an 8 folds, and a 5 raises. What's your play? What if you change your nine to a ten?

I know there's a few variables unspecified here, but I'd like to...

Re: Sud8 tourney hand: loose steal/standard peel/ big draw

Third street is fine. Completing is the only decent option.

Your fourth street check is weak. Yes, you have a terrible hand now, but so does everyone else. I keep the lead and bet, and expect...

Re: AC Hand - 6th Street Scenario

I would bet 100% of the time in this spot.

Hmm... maybe you're thinking that he's equally likely to have started with 555 as he is the other two aces? If these are the only two possibilities in...

Re: Thought this razz hand was funny

A limp in this spot is only marginally correct even if the 6 and 7 had folded before you. As it stands, it's a terrible play.

It's even worse if the first limper could be slowplaying or is just...

Re: Razz: was the reraise correct or should I let the high cards play?

This is fairly close. If there's a real chance that one (or both?!) of the higher cards will call both bets, then a reraise is clearly correct. It's hard to imagine they would, especially...

I am pretty sure in SOR he says calling 4th is automatic if you raise and get reraised on 3rd.
