Re: Antigua\'s WTO Case Getting Some Coverage

[ QUOTE ]
Just happy to be here guys.

States rights and state sovereignty don't carry any weight here. The Constitution’s Supremacy Clause subordinates states’ rights to the national treaty...

Re: PLO8 $200: Ugly river card

I think as played you have to call. You put ~50% of the effective stack in and you’re getting 2.7 to 1 odds.

Does anyone check behind on the turn or bet less considering the stack sizes? I don’t...

Re: preflop raise?

[ QUOTE ]
Some people believe that's all there is to it.

Rightly or wrongly, at least in a fixed-limit Omaha-8 game against intelligent opponents who are trying to put you on cards in order to...

[ QUOTE ]
so basicly you do advocate sacrifying a (significant?) preflop equity edge in order to maximize your postflop edge?

Re: Bottom set on flop, one low board

[ QUOTE ]

Big Dave D - how much profit do you think you will make playing something like A27J UTG in pot-limit?

[/ QUOTE ]

Are you implying this is ever a fold based on hand value alone?

Re: Bottom set on flop, one low board

I assume by your question and the stakes you are playing you are new to PLO8 so I am going to flavor my response in that vain…

One of the ways you make money in PLO8 is by avoiding big mistakes...

Re: How would you play this???

[ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but I really don't get this. What makes everyone think hero's hand is so strong after the flop given that a tight player raised pre-flop and bet the pot on the flop? Even trash like...

Re: PL: Steal attempt with nut lo gone wrong

Hero?? Curses himself for not checking the turn. It’s been my experience that there is no value in bluffing the turn on a low board at this level. I might (depending on villains) value bet/bluff the...

[ QUOTE ]

you realize the high and low the split the pot, right?

Yes. Thank you.

I also realize that if villain had a low that beat hero’s (turned low) he had it on the flop....

Re: 5/10nl.... sooooooooooo marginal.

I don’t play this high…

I’m either calling or folding this flop. I think raising only folds worse hands so if I think villain will bet worse hands here then I call otherwise I fold because my hand...

Re: High Draw Only on the Flop, $10 HU

[ QUOTE ]
For the stack sizes, a repot on the flop or turn would be a pretty big gamble and would commit hero, yes. If we get stacked here, we're weak, but blinds are still low enough to recover...

Re: High Draw Only on the Flop, $10 HU

[ QUOTE ]

However, my first impulse is to assign least a 48% chance that V has the diamonds for a semi-bluff, so you would need to proceed with caution if a diamon hits and he checks to you....

Re: 25c/50c NLO8 turn decision

You have 10 nut outs to a scoop ( 4 js, 2 qs, 2 10s Kd and 9d) and 5 nut outs to half the pot and you may have the best hand now so you have odds to call. The pot is huge (~half your stack) so you...

Re: PLO8 $200: Horrible Turn card

It would be hard to put a villain with a VPIP of 36 on a hand that crushes you. So I don’t think a C/C is terrible but the pot is small and you are OOP so I would lean towards a fold. On the other...

Re: PLO8 $100: Checking the turn?

You can't say that without looking at the big picture. Yes of course, in isolation, raising pre-flop from EP with this hand is not optimal. But if he only raises AA23 from EP then he's...
