Re: Has anyone taken the CFA exams?

I am taking Level III this June so this is based on my own experience. Considering you having no background, I think you can pass only if you study full time for a couple of months. The material for...

Agreed.

Flop is nice and drawy, but not very threatening, with makes draws more likely, and makes it more...

Re: Playing against a maniac: Strategy adjustments

Great thread. I just want to say that I have had lesson from Eric before and it was great. I learned a lot from him.

Thanks for doing this, Eric.

Re: 2 Tough hands from my session today

oranage, care to explain why h1 is good? seems like if the raise is only called if he's crushed. The only better hands I think he can fold out are TT-QQ I think.

Mind telling more in details in what persuaded you making the purchase? Some numbers would be really appreciated for us to learn, thanks.

what range did you put him on that made you called the turn?

That's a good point. TBH I just didn't see a hand he'd play this way except possibly Q8 or Q7. I...

if you raise, I think you have to fold to a reraise.

Re: Olsen Twin thin value bet vs donk

I would of fold turn, but as played I think river shove is good as lots of eights and some sevens will call you. you counterfeited 87. The only hand I'm worried about is TT and JJ but I'm not sure if...

Re: QQ 100nl.

I think your play is fine. Not sure about the river. Could go either way. I think folding on the flop to the minraise is pretty exploitable especially with position to see what he does first on the...

Re: Different AK line against aggressive donk

Does he bluff his missed raw a lot? I think it's better to c/c and let him bluff his missed, draw, all the draws missed.

I still like to 3B preflop. AK is hard to play OOP and more times than...

2Barrel then TPTK, valuetown???

Don't have much read on villian. seems kind of loose and passive. Initial preflop raise is huge, maybe just fold? Didn't want to since I had position and a good hand /images/graemlins/tongue.gif....

Pocket Jacks...........deep, deep, deep, against maniac and donk

Please bear with me as I couldn't find a hand converter that works lately.

Ok, villian 1 is a huge maniac, coming in with 79/50, pretty much calling all raises once he comes in.

Villian 2 is a...
