Re: What to do on the turn?

So do you have villain as most likely on an overpair or AT?

[ QUOTE ]

assuming our outs are clean, you're getting direct odds to call the turn, and you have implied odds most of the time as...

Re: What to do on the turn?

In retrospect, that is what I am wondering if I should have done.
In the hand I re-raised enough to put him in, he called with AhQh and I won when my straight hit the river.

The thing is that I...

What to do on the turn?

Villain is quite passive. He will bet top pair but switches to call-down mode if raised. He tends to slowplay sets or better. I thought there was some chance he would fold top pair to an all-in raise...

Re: At what % are you up againts AA when you are reraised all-in prefl

Mike Caro's website has a very complete set of statistical tables for poker games (lots of other great info there too):

Re: ajmargarine Hand, BalugaWhale comment....new thread

It isn't the same. When you check-raise you are turning implied odds into immediate odds. This is especially significant in internet NL games because the stacks tend only to be around the 100bb mark...

Re: Overpair problems

You seriously pop it to 60 and then fold for 30 more with 150 in the pot?

[ QUOTE ]
I don't know how else to handle this than to pop it to 60 and fold if raised.

Re: Quirky little KQ

I'd like it a little more if the stacks were deeper and villain was known to be worse than just "loose so far, and may have a bluffing streak" based on 30 hands.

Even then, it seems so...

"c/r only gets called by monsters"

This just hasn't been my experience. I have the strong feeling that many players who I face will call a check-raise with top pair and...

Re: Quirky little KQ

I am not at all fond either of Hero or Villain's play in this hand. It looks as if Villain made the most costly mistakes, because he made them on later streets. Even so I dislike Hero's play the...

Re: Range for TAG villain?

Does everybody really re-raise KK 100% of the time? I do almost always re-raise with them, just not this time...

My reasoning for leading the flop was: Paired flop, no flush draw. I am likely way...

Re: Range for TAG villain?

RussianBear,
This isn't a very helpful reply. It worries me to see veteran posters replying like this. Have I breached group etiquette somehow? I have checked the FAQ sticky. Other than not using a...

Re: Range for TAG villain?

Does that mean that you don't call the push?
Would you have check-raised all-in in that spot?
What range do you have villain on?
When I check-raised the turn I was expecting Villain to fold.

Re: Range for TAG villain?

Usually (~95% of the time) I do re-raise KK. This time I did not becasue it was already heads-up and villain's open raising range was very wide. So I decided to call, lead at any flop and then...

Range for TAG villain?

Villain is a tough customer (little eagle icon in my PT database). Tight and aggressive. Doesn’t make many mistakes.

$0.50/$1 - No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
Villain open raises to $3.50 OTB...

Re: Draw gets there but I\'m not sure I like it anymore

Maybe he thinks that he has the best hand and I might have a big pair that I can't get away from?

I might well have open shoved a boat into him on that turn. Although I would have tried harder...

Draw gets there but I\'m not sure I like it anymore

Villain is a little loose, passive and overvalues one pair hands. He goes to showdown a far too much.

$0.50/$1 - No Limit Hold'em 6-players

Hero open raises $4 from MP [9h 8h]...

Re: Rethinking Combo Draws

The problem that I have with your analysis is that your win at showdown odds of 3:1, include all the times KTs makes a one pair hand that is best. But, as you said yourself, you can't expect to play...

Re: SCs UTG

I don't think my read changed. The table was tight but they seemd to call a raise with almost anything they would limp.

Re: SCs UTG

Interesting. I was thinking either ~1/2-1/3 pot or check behind. I seem to loose these surprising often when I bet and am called. How often on average do you find that your hand good when you pot it...

Re: SCs UTG

6-handed pre-flop. Sometimes I raise T9s UTG, sometimes I limp, sometimes I just fold them.

I decided to limp this time becasue I was pretty sure that any premium hand would raise, but if I open...

SCs UTG

The table has been tight and passive, not many flops, a raise often wins the pot. Villain is very tight and passive (50 hands). However, he did open limp in SB, call a raise, lead at a J high single...

Re: Check Raise Bluffing Against People Who Raise your Cont bets

You could always check-fold unimproved and out of position sometimes, after raising PF. Especially against a player who likes to raise CBs. In general I CB unimproved big aces about 30% of the time...
