Vista should have raid drivers built into the OS, it isn't like XP where you have to install the drivers during installation.

So it realloy depends on your motherboard.

you can get G and B, they are supposed to be cross functional, having it open is not really smart.

I had a lot of problems like this when I was using a Wireless G adaptor with a B router. I woujld always get connected eventually, but it was a pain sometimes and I would have to reset everything...

From what I know there isn't much point in using a 8xxx series card unless you are running Vista for the DX10 support.

PF usage of 610MB isn't excessive.

Maybe try turning off the resident shield in AVG when you are playing?

That CPU is pretty weak and could well be the bottleneck of your system.

the video card will be the most important part.

Any Core 2 Duo system or probably even Pentium Dual-Core (Core2Duo with less on board cache) and a 1GB or 2GB of RAM will suffice i am sure.

what does your wireless monitor say?

1. make sure your radio is turned on
2. Does it see your network?
3. Does the device manager recognize you adaptor?
