Re: outplayed by dave , superuser call :)

If he played it more aggro on the flop

If he had bet the flop, Dave would have c/r him (remember he had top two pair), and then he would have had to fold. I don't think there was any way for hero...

Re: outplayed by dave , superuser call :)

Not that tough a call. Like Dave says, what hand are you supposedly betting here that's consistent with the play to this point? A269? If you had an overpair to the board, you'd probably just check...

Re: PLO8 $100: Big pot on the flop but not a big hand

Yeah, I would have to say this doesn't look good. 7% pfr is not real loose preflop, so like I dunno says, you're facing AAxx here a lot. It's always possible he has some sort of A2xx hand and is just...

Re: LO8, Optimum way to get maximum value out of strong made hands.

get more value out of my strong made hands

The main thing is to bet enough other hands and situations that people can't easily get a lot of information from your rare 3-bets/raises.
I would...

Re: Bodog Omaha 8 - Qualifying Low Hand?

Bayesian logic says:
- odds that you made a mistake (like playing Omaha Hi rather than O8, or misreading the board): 99+%
- odds that Bodog's software made a mistake: 1-%

Re: ***September Low-Content Thread***

After busting out of the nightly $5 PLO8 tourney on Stars I decided to try the $50+5 that starts at 11:30 for the first time (I usually don't want to be up that late...).

Hours later...:

Re: Who is the best Omaha 8 player in the world?

Unusual to see any of the PLO8 SNGs above $55+5 run. Occasionally one of the $105+9s but even that is pretty rare.

Re: PLO8 0.05/0.1

Fold turn. .05/.10 is about flogging your opponents with the nuts.
Your flop bet also seems bad to me. Against fewer opponents, where you would have a decent chance of taking down the pot right away...

Re: Who is the best Omaha 8 player in the world?

toughest guys 4 me are (in no order) hakkalah, davebreal, schimettia

Scimmietta you mean (Italian for 'little monkey'). Kind of nice to hear that he is considered strong. Scimmietta is my twin...

Re: When to bet the turn in PLO8?

Seems to me they can't both be horrible! Anyway, I would say that MP's call is fairly bad. Button's bet is correct, I would play it this way every time. You generally assume if you have AAxx and...

Re: Insane River Bluff Raise worked

Nicely done. It worked because hardly anyone is going to be bluffing in that spot.

Re: Play AAAT? WCOOP HORSE MTT

Reverse implied odds are too grim. Maybe against a weak-tight, passive opponent you could play this profitably, but that's more or less because you could play any 4 profitably against some players,...

Re: On the subject of colluders in online o8 games

mostly at PLO8 ($6.5 and $16)

You have to wonder why they bothered. If I were going to go to the trouble of colluding I'd at least try to make the extra return worth my while. If you assume they...

Re: Simple Question

Bet. Checking allows someone who has a backdoor low to get a free card, which you don't want.

Re: On the subject of colluders in online o8 games

Can you elaborate on how this amounts to collusion

It doesn't amount to collusion, it just provides probable cause for further investigation. Obviously there are going to be times when two people...

Re: On the subject of colluders in online o8 games

just a coincidence that angryfish

AngryFish doesn't have an ROI that high, though he is a solid winning player at the limits he plays (11% ROI).

Re: Horribly general question re: O/8

It would be possible to obtain a general answer to your question if you had access to all of the SNG stats from startracker or sharkscope. You could look at the distribution of ROI for both O8 and HE...

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)

Skoal is an excellent player, but I refuse to see how pot-committing yourself (at least thats the thinking I'm assuming he went w/ since he didn't b/f to the flop raise) w/ a lead-out here on this...

Re: FLO8 - Pre-flop play from Blinds

It seems like you're questioning both BB's decision 3-bet and SB's decision to smooth call. But like Buzz says, your post is really hard to understand - hand histories in some usual format would make...

Re: ***September Low-Content Thread***

That's a nasty run of beats. It reminds me of why I don't like limit - I always feel like I can't bet enough to force people to stop chasing their thin draws (like Mr. KK in the last hand on your...

Re: Prop bet: eat a glass bottle for $20

I think you should decide not to eat the glass bottle and just pay your friend. Maybe if the stakes were a hundred times higher it would make sense to take this bet and try to win it. As it stands...

Re: micro PLo8 question from beginner

Against one LAG player I'd be willing to mix it up here, since you're in good shape against NLD/NFD (which is a likely holding). But with two pot raises back to you I think you have to fold - the...

Re: 0.25/.50 LO8: nut flush on paired board

I would call here. UTG+1 could easily be betting the non-nut club flush, figuring that neither Hero nor BB has shown any aggression and therefore a FH (and nut flush) is unlikely, and that someone...
