I think you can avoid troublesome spots like this by making a standard flop raise instead of a minraise.

Bad LAG's are where I lost the most of my money. A hand like AK vs. a bag lag who calls a raise with 9 4 and will call you down with a board like 39J is what will hurt your stack by trying to take...
