Re: A6s OTB, $25 NL. Many questions...

i get logic on the second post...but why minraise? i'm curious if this accomplishes most by giving seemingly good odds to a great second best hand, but i am intoxicated. thoughts?

as to the post...

A6s OTB, $25 NL. Many questions...

Villian is running 42/11.4/2 over about 50 hands, so not much of a sample to judge. Generally, though, a thinking player. Knows how to control the size of the pot and extract value, most notably on...

Re: QQ UTG $25 NL, flopped FH gets to river, now what?

AH, honestly, this was a bit of a tilt post, but also wanted to check my line. nowadays i will shove everytime here, and, i guess it was a trivial decision, but i lost...what did villian have...

Re: QQ UTG $25 NL, flopped FH gets to river, now what?

k, good to hear that this is what i should have done...gave a second's thought to flat calling, then my old, weak-tight self proceeded to push. YAY.

QQ UTG $25 NL, flopped FH gets to river, now what?

villian knows what he is doing, running about 25/8/1.7, so a beat weak/passive, but whatev.

i have a pretty tight image, but have been 3-betting a lot recently since the table is a bit aggro...

Re: 25NL AKo OTB vs unknown 3better

what could SB be 3-betting that beats you on the flop and is not firing, unless he's trying to slowplay something like KK or JJ on that dangerous flop and whiffed the CR. i think i fire on the flop...

Re: 50NL AA 6-Max

hmm, i don't really like your line here. why don't you raise the flop? i don't think he's limping any pocket pair w/ that PFR%, so you really have nothing to be afraid of here. i would put him on...

Re: $10NL, 79s in BB...push or fold?

[ QUOTE ]
This board is so draw happy and you have 2 AI's in front of you I would let this go, its not even top 2, even if you were ahead here, which I doubt, on the turn and river against 2 players...

Re: $10NL, 79s in BB...push or fold?

thanks for the reply, pokey. i have always enjoyed your posts and respected your game, and have learned a lot from them. does anything change here if i hold top two (e.g., something like 9c7c3c...

$10NL, 79s in BB...push or fold?

villian in SB has been very active, raising many hands...i called PF figuring i had a good chance to stack someone (and had been running hot). when this flop comes out, i am obviously happy, but not...

heads up/very shorthanded strategy and considerations

I tried searching, but had no luck finding information (though I know a lot is out there) on HU and 3-handed play at tables, so I'll throw this post out for some insight.

First off, what sorts of...

Re: QQ $10 NL facing river push...time to make a stand?

QQ $10 NL facing river push...time to make a stand?

villian is passive, loose donkey. calls down with any pair on board, any draw, etc. stats over 86 hands 92/11.6/1.5. villian has pushed several hands on the river where i have checked the turn for...

76s OTB, $10 NL ... trivial push?

UTG limper is major fish...BB is relatively unknown, though seems decent. This flop is a push every time, correct?

Re: taking shots at $25NL, Q7s on the button. 4 handed line check

In regards to a) and b) ... this is sound advice. Thanks for your input. Yea, I think sometimes at such limits I adopt a form of tilt by deluding myself into thinking I need to force things to...

taking shots at $25NL, Q7s on the button. 4 handed line check

So, I only have about 12 buy-ins (for moving up), but I'm running well at $10NL and have started to take shots at $25NL. First off, opinions on this? To clarify, I have ~31 buy-ins for $10NL as...

Re: SB vs BB fight

ugh, that checkraise on the turn is really ominous--combining this with a weaker bet and call on the flop looks like he might have 56. i really don't think he pulls this with just a queen. i guess...

On the flop, pot sized bet for sure.

Re: NL10 - AQo - TPSK

PF is good, although I would raise more for value and since you are out of position for the hand (something like 0.85 or 0.90).
On the flop, pot sized bet for sure. If he calls that, I probably...

very basic AK situation, what is my general line? $10 NL

Hey all. Just wondering what the preferred line is in this situation (i.e., playing AK OOP)? I get into it fairly often, and don't really know how to deal with it. Villian is unknown, as I've just...

why attack so early? i mean, i tend to get a read before trying one of these moves. you have two callers in between your squeeze and you are in really bad shape if it fails. given the flop,...

Re: NL10 - AA on a paired board

This is not a good play. You're only getting called by a hand that beats you on the flop, whether it's an 8 or xx for full house. I would probably raise the flop to 2.50 and see how BB reacts. ...
