Re: SB Special: value bet or check raise?

I would check the flop, because you dont know whether you will get enough callers to make your bet for value.

It also tends to make your hand obvious to some players when you bet a flush draw on...

Re: QQ on AKx flop (shorthanded)

[ QUOTE ]
To my surprise everyone checked the flop, but I'm still not sure that means I'm ahead of BTN who is scared to bet a K. I think SB would have bet the turn if he had a hand. If I bet I'm...

Re: QQ on AKx flop (shorthanded)

That is a gross flop !

I would not make a flop c-bet, because I dont think that your opponents are likely to fold and your hand is weak.

I would check and see what the remaining 2 players...

Re: Anybody play this AQs differently? 6max

The reason you didn't 3 bet the flop was because you want to CR the turn -

otherwise 3 bet the flop - lead the turn

Agreed, the button could have been raising the flop with a draw for a "free card".

Noob Question: What does "Buy the button mean?"

[/ QUOTE ]

If your raise is able to fold out the players between yourself and the blinds, that is known as buying the button.

Re: Trip 5\'s (0,50/1)

Firstly welcome to the forum. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You might be able to find a better converter or else take a few minutes to type your post out like this:

0.50/1 (9 handed)

4 folds,...

BTW, I have no idea how to play NL, but shouldnt Hero put in som more action on that coordinated board?

Re: AJs cold call and scary flop

I think that this is a fold on the flop.

You are behind most of a reasonable pf raise range for UTG, with perhaps 5 outs in an 8 sb pot.

8:1 is enough odds to call if your outs are all good....

Re: .50/1.00

I think the difference between 0.25/.50 and 0.50/1.00 is that generally speaking the players at 0.25/0.50 seem more passive.

I think that you will probably find that you will get more preflop...

Re: AK - line check

Thanks for the responses.

I could see MP raising the flop with something like KQ, so I felt that 3-betting the flop was correct.

I also doubted whether my hand was good after MP raised the...

AK - line check

FR Table had just become short handed. MP was a decent TAG and CO seemed a bit fishy over a few hands.

Re: KK faces A on turn against TP villain

If you are sure that villain is passive and is unlikely to bluff (can you ever be sure ?), then I would bet/fold the turn.

However, the way villain has played his hand, by raising pf, calling a pf...

Re: JJ in the big blind with two callers and scary flop

I would check call one bet on the turn, and re-evaluate on the river.

Re: call or raise on the flop? and call or cap on the turn?

I dont mind your flop call as you had position on the aggro villain and you were heads up.

I would call down from villain's turn 3-bet as the flush draw just got there and his 3-bet does represent...

Re: TPTK in position vs flush board

I would call the flop bet with the intention of raising a non /images/graemlins/club.gif turn.

You are also vulnerable against a possible gut-shot draw on the flop, but I would still prefer to...

Re: .50/1 BB special, played back at heavily

I would not have 5-bet the flop, but hey I can be weak tight !

Anyway, I would have just called down UI after the flop 6-bet.

Re: Multi-tabling (how the heck do y\'all do it)

I think that you need to be confident enough in your game to believe your play is +EV, before you start multitabling.

I think that this also includes having a reasonable amount of playing...

Re: AQ, between a tag and a short stack

I think that I may have preferred to bet the flop as opposed to check. If it had come back to you raised and 3-bet, then I think that you could have probably comfortably folded.

As it is, I think...
