Re: Unique Preflop situation

3betting with K5s is the sign of an inflated ego. Most people who play this game today aren't dumb and will realize you're isolating lightly. They will widen their 4bet range and you will get pwned....

Re: bet this river !?

I agree, bet. If he raises I probably think "folding is best here" while moving my mouse over the call button and clicking. This is why I suck. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: .25-.50 Full Tilt 6max

Bet the flop. Your play might be good if hand ranges were tight, but they're not in this situation IMO.

Re: donked into on top pairing river with BP

Grunching.. I fold here. As long as your are raising your good hands on this flop I see no harm in folding this river.

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for November!

Hello all. Here are my random thoughts.

1.) Getting tilted because your opponent plays badly (in the form of missing a value bet or raise, aka, your opponent is playing too passive) is pretty...

Sethy, I wouldn't brag about your game selection. Based on that hand, I'd say SB is far more likely to be a tough player than a fish.

Re: i just ate ham and eggs (eggs and ham for those in UK)

I don't really understand the OP. I don't see what my hand is unless it's Eggs and Ham. Am I supposed to decide what I'd do with every hand in my range? (BTW, I think this would make an awesome...

Re: River semi-bluff (yes, river) vs. Heisenb3rg

[ QUOTE ]

People use the term optimal way too loosely imo which causes all sorts of confusion. Optimal implies money/+EV/etc, but thats not the case if villian is exploitable. Exploitable also...

In general, it is game-theoretically suboptimal to raise with calling hands.

Hmm.. that's good.. but how we do know what a raising hand is and what a calling hand is?...

Re: Massive Hero fold

Note to SB: Next time, have QTo, be playing against 2+2ers, and donk the river when the flush comes in. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I bet/3bet the flop. If I have a hand that can bet this turn, it is one that is showing down 100% of the time. There is 0 folding equity here. His hand is either 55, 66 or nothing....

Re: Basic River Value Question

Any Kx hands are 12 combos as well. (Since we have an A and a K in our hand, all of his non-pair hands are reduced from 16 to 12 combos.)

So if we take the above assumptions and add that he calls...

Re: Basic River Value Question

I think he will show up with a pair a surprising amount of the time. We have a read that he is passive pre and post - this means that he is pretty likely to play a hand like 99 like this.

I used...
