Re: Ugly River Spot w/ middle set
Hi Guys,
It's been a while since my last post, but this hand caught my attention. First off, no this hand should not have been played preflop, esp. in MP. Maybe play it OTB knowing only 5 or 6...

Re: Good to chase, or fishy spewing?
Both Seat 1 and Seat 2 hit their door card which is a major scare considering the 3rd street action. But you're implied odds are strong enough to fish on 5th. You have 2 draws to 2 Aces, 2 shots at...

Re: 6th street checkraise
You played it fine, and yes his 5th street call was poor. The pot was too big to lay down for the river bet. A regretful call but proper. You just got drawn out on.

Re: 3rd Street decision
I agree with both Beer and Jeffage. I would probably try and shut out the fish with a re-raise. You know you can get him to fold on 4th or 5th if he misses. I wouldn't let a fish hang around...

Re: PL $600 hand
You're way ahead on the Turn, but not on the flop. I assume you mean on 4th street. Didn't the Button have more money or did that get covered by the All-in on the turn? If so, then I would've...

Re: 15/30 LO8 checkup
I probably would 3 bet this preflop. I tend to be fairly aggressive preflop. Plusthis hand plays well heads up. But I'd also have to be at the table to make this decision. All depends on the rest...

Re: 15/30 river fold
What's your question with this hand? You didn't mention. Nevertheless here's my critique.
Preflop: Muck without hesitation - with two callers ahead and the rest behind to possibly raise this is...

Re: 2/4 Limit O8 - Leaking Badly
I can agree with one of the points Benwood made. You might want to raise or re-raise out the SB once or twice to let the table know where you stand. You can also raise a bit more when in good...

Re: First session, 5 hands
Sincere Apologies Buzz,
I did misinterpret your discription of the betting rounds. I read your recantor first, but I feel your first instinct is correct. It's a much stronger play than the...

Re: how was this played?
Looks fine to me. Played it pretty straight until 7th. I would've just called his raise. You're hand didn't improve and his could've. It is possible that he made a Flush and better low on the...

Re: First session, 5 hands
Hey Guys (Buzz and Ben) - Ever consider leading out on this one? I would in this position, although I know the two of you would think this is outside of my normal play. You chase out any weak...

Re: First session, 5 hands
Hand 1: Agree completely with Buzz, you must protect your hand with a raise on the flop. You are too vulnerable to both the high and low draw.
Hand 2: Muck this hand pre-flop. Most won't but...

Re: 30/60 LO8
After some considerable thought on this matter, I must agree with Raul Wong and fold this piece of junk hand! There has been much discussion in regard to the value of Aces. Primarily they have very...

Re: Weird check from opponent on river
It seems fairly apparent to me, I'm putting Villian on pocket Queens. King's seems unlikely with one dead, same with Aces. If he did start with Split Jacks and slows down on 7th, something is...

Re: correctly played?
Q: correctly played?
A: No - even thoough you got a good price to come in the SB, you should've mucked this "Trap Hand". No offense, honestly, but you got what you deserved by playing it. You were...

Re: 3 bet the turn?
The call is the correct play here. Yes you have a nice draw heads up, but it needs to be examined closely. If you make your low, you might get 1/4'rd (unless the 5 hits and give you both the wheel)....

I will add this. If you're opponents see you folding to one bet with 9 to 1 odds, what impression are you giving them? Weak tight. They are going to push you around, and when you come out...

Re: O8 limit - River play with checked flush board

Here is my biggest question. Should I call a bet on this flop? I have a good chans of a nut straight but the board contains a flush draw and I only compete for the high part of the pot. I...

Re: Limit 2/4 O/8 - Marginal Hand, Take 1
Agreed your flop call was marginal, but let's ignore that fact for now.
The flop: Not good for you at all. Check/fold is easy here. No backdoor flush draw, with a 4 card out to make the wheel....
