Re: Live 8/16, 2 hands postflop

[ QUOTE ]

I'd transfer tables. 3 way pots in a live 8 game are wowwwww

[/ QUOTE ]

Haha funny thing.
I actually requested table change from Hand 1's table where the action was just as dead...

Re: Bizarre river raise

I 3-bet/call, but I can see both sides of the argument. I think 3-bet here still has more weight simply because of the previous statements... Villain is erratic and we must treat him as such.

I...

Re: Live 20/40 -- AQo in small blind

I somewhat agree with OP's 50/50 approach but I think its closer to 75/25 with 75 being the raise. Not raising disguises our hand and is useful to mix it up for balanced play, but you should still...

I think this hand looks standard to me seeing that SB is completely unknown

Live 8/16, 2 hands postflop

Both of these hands happened almost right as I sat down, both villains were both older asian gentlemen.

Pardon the stereotyping but that typically means TAG preflop, Tight Passive postflop, or...

Re: Starting Bankroll

I usually play the 6/12 and 8/16 games at my respective card rooms, i try for the 8/16 since theres a half kill kill /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I buy in for 2 racks at both games (400), that...

Re: The Long Term - will you ever get in enough live hands?

In my experience playing live has actually done better for me than I've been doing online. Online I 4-table 3/6 and live I've been playing 8/16. The players are SIGNIFICANTLY worse at live play as...

8/16 Live Thin Value Raises

So I'm a long time lurker, hit 21 recently and have been hitting up local casinos for some time now.

So, even though the "advice" or critique about how aggressive I am shouldn't exactly be taken...

Re: some questionable turn calls

If you're 100% sure hes only raising AK+ than checkings fine, but especially with live play people believe in luck.

Sometimes people will just call AK if they raised AK before and it didnt work. ...

Re: 3/6 4 hands. Not sure about turn decisions

Hand 1 and 2 seem standard.
Hand 3 I prefer a calldown rather than raising that turn.
Hand 4 If you're gonna play it aggressive I'd prefer to get the money in on the flop. You represent strength...

Re: some questionable turn calls

Hand 1: Even in with the loose passive players in live play i still find these players to bet flops after a preflop raise. I don't think leading out is bad though.
I'm still betting this turn to...

Re: 8/16 Live Monkey See. Monkey Do.

I actually do not have the bankroll for the 20/40 game really, and I'm pushing it playing 8/16. The action is great at 8/16 at bay though, its amazing the difference between the 6/12 to 8/16 games. ...

Re: 8/16 Live Monkey See. Monkey Do.

I like this line much much better than Harv's overcall post. As you stated, you are vulnerable to that paired board as well as higher flush, and also you have 2 players to call rather than just one....

when i'm called in two spots on the flop, i done with the hand UI.

for image reasons you could bet the turn, but you must fold to a raise so that could hurt more than help.

Re: Overplayed fullhouse?

I tend to C/R flop here or lead, usually the C/R, perhaps this is over aggressive?

As played its fine, not 3-betting river is too weak-tight IMO. SH tends to have a lot more action and...

Re: A8s Live 8/16

I have to admit, I'm confused by my opponents play here.

It seems like maybe a pair with a straight draw, or something like that. Or maybe a strangely played A5. Either way, the 8 put...

Re: 8/16 Live Pair of 4s

Live players tend to be a lot more passive, and aggression like this will sometimes even get me on the weak tight side.

I put him on AQ or AJ but I still couldn't bring myself to raise this river....

PT Stat Difference MH vs SH

Currently, I'm a decent winner MH doing something like 2ish BB/HR at 3/6, and playing Live 8/16.

Re: A9 in BB pairs aces HE

As you stated preflop is most likely a fold here. As played I tend to C/R the flop to see where I'm at. If I'm 3-bet on flop I'm calling and C/F turn UI, and betting through if MP3 is on calldown...
