Re: Odd Quiz, introductory concepts pt. 1.

This seems conceptually simple if you believe the FTOP, but harder to implement. According to the FTOP, you want your opp to make a mistake if he knew your cards.

Hand 1
Since villain has the...

LAGging and looking for action, now a double gutter...

The table has gotten ridiculously tight, so I've had to resort to extreme measures, hence the preflop call. I've been raising close to 50% of hands lately, and everybody keeps folding. I can tell...

Re: NL200 DEEP 2 pair

So the turn came K /images/graemlins/heart.gif. I bet ~ 1/2 pot to make it look like I wanted him to stay around and he min CR'd me. Calling would make a $300 pot and make a push EZ. At that point I...

Re: NL200 DEEP 2 pair

SO I go against my intuition and call. Turn comes K /images/graemlins/heart.gif. What now?? Str8, flush, and possible overpair hits.

NL200 DEEP 2 pair

Villain will gamble a little, but not too loose. I've not been at the table long enough for reliable stats. Doubled up first hand when UTG (not current villain) limped w/AA and I checked 66, flopped...

Re: NL200 Deep OOP against LAG.. HELP!

When I CR the turn, it was to get more $ in the pot ON THE TURN, because I was sure he would bet if I checked and I was well ahead of his range. I was also quite sure that he would fold to my CR, as...

NL200 Deep OOP against LAG.. HELP!

Villain has been crazy up and down, running over table. Calls PF raises and 3bets light, but hasn't gone broke so he knows when to fold. We haven't tangled since my first hand when I 3bet him w/AK in...

actually I only posted because I was unsure of the math here. I figured AK was a fav over 2 lower pairs, but its behind AK and a pair quite a bit. MP had JJ and button had 88-...

Since when did 77 become a "big favorite" over AK?

Dead money FTW!

I assume this is part of the conversation about some outs being dead. If you kill an ace, 77 has...

Re: squeeze gone very wrong vs a moron

Hands like this are how a 50+ VPIP moron gets 250BB deep.

Just wait until you have a good (not marginal) hand and take him to valuetown. I don't like folding a marginal hand against a donk (seems...

Reboot your luckbox.

My reboot switch is broken from abuse. Also, the user interface is smashed. Do you know where I can get it repaired?

Re: KK vs. DJ Sensei: Live $5/$10

An observation:

If BJ 5-bets to 1200 (choosing a convenient number) and DJ pushes for $2K, BJ's pot odds are 3200:800 or 4:1. DJ could then flip over AA and it would be neutral EV to call/fold....

All you guys saying call here's a question for you:

Do you think DJ would be getting out of line preflop against BJ without knowing the effective stack size before he made the 4-bet?

Re: KK vs. DJ Sensei: Live $5/$10

The $64K question is why you sit to DJ's right if you choose to play at the same table as him?

Re: KK vs. DJ Sensei: Live $5/$10

If DJ checks turn, we check it back. Give him a chance to bluff river. He's gonna know that we have something, because we didn't bluff, given a prime opportunity on this turn. But, by checking it...

the reason i think folding pre is money is because of the implied odds involved.

Re: KK vs. DJ Sensei: Live $5/$10

I think a big part of the problem is that your range is better defined to him than his is to you as you go to the flop. This gives him an advantage. It would be great to take that initiative back,...

Listen, I'm not saying there's absolutely no way he has 77 here, but on the flop I don't think you can assign that as a SIGNIFICANT part of his range. It is much more likely that his...

Honestly (on the flop anyway) I don't think a smaller PP is a big part of his range. Assuming villain is a multi-tabler who's semi-decent, he has probably AQ/AK, TT+...
