Re: i hate these spots, fold the AA?!?!

The only difference there might have been in how to play this is to open-shove the flop.... either way, these conditions warrant getting it all in. If you're beaten, it sucks, but fire away.

you must be incapable of analytical thought....

The "garbage" to which etizzle refers must be his or her spouting that he or she is annoyed at:

1. Being forced to read posts that clearly can be ignored by anyone with enough manual dexterity to...

Does the \"answer\" change if....

The discussion here is just beginning to get a little more interesting....

One person said that without a read on villain (in this case, I am the villain), the best course of action might simply...

one edit to the original post.... and a quick observation....

In the original post, I said the button folded after I raised to $1,200.... my apologies -- the button folded to your $200 bet after the flop. It was at that point that I raised to $1,200.

So...

A post.... but also a sort of survey of thought processes.

I want to know how YOU (the reader) thinks. I am not interested in what might be "standard" or anything. I want to learn the thought process (if there is any true thought given at all) of each...

Re: 10/20 live. Flopped TP/TK.

The preflop reraise with a hand as weak as AJ offsuit was bad. Against a loose opponent, why would you want to play a large pot without a hand big enough to justify such a course of action?

Re: big pot versus super lag live

LA,

His putting you on a flush draw makes sense, but not a weak pocket-pair.

Once you called his reraise preflop and then raised him hard on the flop, he can't be thinking you are holding 33 or...

is g-p making any sense to anyone?

g-p,

Could you PLEASE explain your responses? And, if you could articulate, what would be your course of action here?

It would be most appreciated.

Re: big pot versus super lag live

Why did you check the turn? If he had a naked 6 or a decent overpair (such as JJ), wouldn't he be reraising the flop to protect his hand and win a nice pot right there? My guess is that unless he...

he know what you have and 'intelligent lags' people dont try to get people to fold TPTK in live games

This is incredibly confusing to me.

If he knows I have TPTK, and...

Re: regarding villain\'s stack size and tendencies....

I am a regular in the 5/10 game at foxwoods.

Lately, the game has been playing larger for opening raises and post-flop bets. In this game, $60 from early position was definitely not an abnormal...

regarding villain\'s stack size and tendencies....

To start this hand, villain had about $2,600.

When I said villain is a reasonably intelligent lag, I meant to imply that almost any ace (especially if it's suited), and any pair is well within the...

Re: Can you NL players embarrass the MTT players? (X-post)

Zee, I think your bottom set is in deep trouble here.

From your description of the BB, he probably has noticed that UTG is capable of making big bluffs, etc. Also, it probably is not lost on him...

Not as \"standard\" a hand as it might seem at first blush....

The game is 5/10 NL at foxwoods. The two opponents who saw the flop with me each have between $2,000 and $3,000, and I have both of them covered.

From early position, I open for $60 with AcKc. ...

Re: live 5/10 NL flopped set 1000 BBs deep

Villain was gordon? Unfortunately, he can have anything -- from 88 through JJ for a weak overpair, to 44 or 77 for a pair and straight draw, to 56, to 47suited for the flopped straight and a...

OOPS!!!!!!!!

Sorry folks -- somehow, I missed the fact that 3 hearts were on the board at the turn.... clearly, this means the straight is nowhere near being the best hand, and of course makes the hero's decision...

Re: 2550 vs Poopers

Checking this turn is about the worst play you can make. On the turn, you have the stone nuts on a draw-heavy board.... a hard bet here (if he does not fold) forces him to pay the price for...

another thing to consider....

Very few people have had trouble with the idea of calling the initial re-raise (a 3-bet) with pocket 9's. To me, this makes sense from the standpoint of making the call when one has enough chips so...

So, what is the right price (if any) to call here?

Some of you have indicated you feel the only way I am coming back over the top all-in is with a higher pocket pair than 99. Others have said they might think my holding is as weak as 66, but...

Some people have noted that I did not reveal my position relative to yours. Because I have declared myself to be all-in, it did not seem to me that position is any longer an issue, since there will...

so, does it make sense to call the all-in here?

Thus far, the only people who have responded to this post have indicated they would not have re-raised to t2,500 if they were not planning to call a push. The question then becomes whether my...

Good flop for my hand, but difficult post-flop decision.

Game is live 5/10 NL. The table has been fairly active and reasonably aggressive.

I have $1,600, and villain covers.

In the cutoff, I pick up Ah Kh. UTG raises to $55, mid-position calls, and...
