Re: Beat: Sold fantasy season for Brett Favre

As a Bears fan, I'd love for you to pick up all the best players on the Giants, Lions, Vikings, Eagles, Redskins, and Saints. Is that too much to ask?

Re: Best daily Vegas tournament for low rollers?? (under 70.00 entry fee)

My wife and I are headed to LV December 10-14. Based on the comments here it looks like the PH tournaments are closest to what we're looking for.

Anyone know if there's a chance at getting any...

Re: When should blinds go up?

Well, I use $25 as my smallest chip for the reason that it's only 4 chips up to the next value ($100) where if you use $5 it's 5 chips up to $25 or if you use $10 it's 5 chips up to $50. For a...

Re: When should blinds go up?

Well, you can change two 0.25 for five 0.10. If they have more than 100 of one color, they can make the smallest amoun 0.05 and start with a larger number of those. Otherwise, you're constantly...

Re: When should blinds go up?

500 chips should be more than enough for 6 people.

I'll assume you have 100 each of 5 different colors unless you tell me otherwise.

each player starts with 15 white = 0.10
each player starts...

[ QUOTE ]
As you can see, there's a lot of variance, which presents a challenge in trying to get the tournament to end by a certain time. In particular, the longest tournaments (the entries with 8%...

Re: When should blinds go up?

1.5% means that the average stack for HU is just above 30BB and 2% means that the average stack is 25BB. Unless you have two very good and evenly matched players, they aren't going to last 20...

Re: When should blinds go up?

There is no absolute "right" way to do it, but two guidelines I always use in setting a tournament structure:

1) Initial BB is 1-2% of starting stack (You are right at 1% so no problem there)
...

Well, I'm pretty certain that I can't achieve fairness both in relation to the button and in relation to the other players. I figure the latter is more important, since position in relation to the...

Thanks for everyone's tips.

I ended up doing some simple trial and error, and got this far:

2) Everybody starts in the big blind exactly once

Re: Prove the rule of two

The rule of two is used for outs after the turn.

After the turn, you have seen your two cards plus the four cards on the board so there are 46 cards you haven't seen.

If you have 1 out, then...

Seating Arrangement Problem

This has a poker application but really is a math problem, so I post it here.

8 people want to play a series of 8 SNG tournaments.

Instead of randomly drawing for seats before each tournament,...

Re: LAUGH: WPT Foxwoods Day 1

It was a tournament so no rake. Would have been quite upset if he did that at a ring game.

Edited to say: I guess I didn't need to say that since I mentioned the blinds going up.

OK, so what should my thinking be? When I'm up against a brand new player, how do I assign him/her hand ranges for certain actions?

I appreciate the feedback.
