Re: NLTRN -- Dealing with small donkbets

I've read lots of threads where people say that min donkbets are very very weak, and how people auto raise them and then second barrel etc. Maybe this is sample size (although it's happened lots of...

Re: Sick board.

I think this board is more Siqq than "sick"

EDIT: btw, I think you have to fold this. Your hand is not strong, and the board is very dangerous.

Re: **** December LC Thread ****

Yeah, I realized I played this like a complete idiot. It's weird that this is how I play when I'm tilting. Anyways, I'm hoping that by posting this hand, the public shaming effect will keep me from...

Re: **** December LC Thread ****

I hate poker so much. So I'm starting to tilt, this guy is running over me, raising big PF with anything, and because I have absolutely nothing, I gotta keep folding. He's been c/r me on flops and...

Wow, it's amazing how this thread is unfolding. People are coming out of the woodwork and attacking each other and then getting into their own fights. It just keeps getting better.

Re: NLTRN: Raising range vs. pre-flop limpers

Yeah, sorry about that, that was a typo, I'll fix it. I meant to say raising a limper.

Re: NLTRN: Raising range vs. pre-flop limpers

Vinetou, I agree completely. My problem is that when I try to open up my raising range against these players, they float me a lot in position and also slowplay their big hands, so I have no idea...

NLTRN: Raising range vs. pre-flop limpers

I'm curious about what kinds of hands people raise PF OOP against chronic limpers. I feel like I'm way too passive in these spots, allowing them to see loads of flops for cheap. Worse yet, I feel...

Re: $11 NLTRN: Top pair gets all-in on the turn

There's been a lot of good discussion here, but I still don't feel much closer to figuring out the best play here.

I'm really torn between 3-betting the flop something like 550 and just shoving. ...

Re: $11 NLTRN: Top pair gets all-in on the turn

While I think I misplayed this hand, I think you're implying that getting all-in with this flop is a mistake.

If I could get all-in on this flop, I wouldn't mind, and I think my best play (which...

Re: $11 NLTRN: Top pair gets all-in on the turn

Hmm, my concern with 3-betting against the c/r was that then we have an even bigger pot and I could be facing a scare card. But...I guess that's not much different from the way I played it.

So I...

Re: 1/2nl cash: 2 pr on 3 flush board

I see, I'm used to playing donks who will call a shove here with a lone spade.

Re: 1/2nl cash: 2 pr on 3 flush board

I guess I should rephrase my comment. Why are we calling the flop? And how do we play if a Q,T,8, or spade falls on the turn?

Re: 1/2nl cash: 2 pr on 3 flush board

Is there any value in shoving the flop? It seems like the logical play to me, as a Q,T,8, or spade makes our hand nearly impossible to play. That being said, I only play SNGs.

EDIT: meant to say...

$11 NLTRN: Top pair gets all-in on the turn

Very early, so no solid read. My opponent seemed loose, but I didn't know much else.

When I get c/r on the flop, I know I'm probably ahead...is calling the c/r okay, or should I 3-bet? I was torn...

Re: ***** November LC Thread *****

After losing 5 in a row, I'm feeling pretty disgusted with myself. 5 losses isn't terrible, but it involved a good deal of bad play (not tilt, so there's no excuse). So I decide to self-medicate. I...

$11 NLTRN: Facing a river shove

This hand was early in the tournament. I knew my opponent was loose (willing to call flop/turn with marginal hands), but I had no solid read on aggression or bluffiness. Is this a spot where I'm...

Re: TT, lets doge a bullet. sng

Well, I don't think shoving is great either, but I think it's still +EV. You're not ahead of his calling range, but he folds enough of the time to make shoving worthwhile.

(EDIT)As far as the...

Re: TT, lets doge a bullet. sng

Ugh, I hate spots like this. They make me just want to shove TT PF (which I know is not optimal). I generally 3-bet here to something like 360, but it has about the same result as this hand: I end...
