Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

Yah, I don't know why he's so torqued over coming in third in his first tourney. That's decent enough. You know, like coming in second on Survivor.

Re: \"Official\" High Stakes Poker Season 3 (Week of 1/22)

Yeah, he hesitated lending MM/Gold, but slid $110K right over to Kaplan.

I mean, in a staged sort of way, but still...

Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

They say that the average lottery winner is broke in 7 years. I guess we're just witnessing the process.

Made me kinda wonder how much this is coming out of their TV show's budget, though. It...

Re: Hold-em on television.. enough already?

Seems like no one ever went broke by dumbing down the TV viewing experience.

Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

I watch it just to see my prediction that Rob's got too many impulse control problems to do anything but lose spectacularly.

But, it seems like about DN's speed. I mean, DN's a great poker...

Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

So far, I've seen the one episode, where he pushes on a flush draw.

Had me ROFL. What a tool. Whoever they interviewed afterward certainly came off a lot better than Rob did.

Re: \"Official\" Poker After Dark thread (week 2)

Excuse the naive question, but is the mouth on some sort of neurostimulant or something?

Re: \"Official\" Poker After Dark thread (week 2)

Sounds like it could be fun.

I seem to recall that Daniel can't resist winding the mouth up (they're complimentary tools), and Doyle has little patience for that sort of nonsense.

Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

Well, that's an awful good point, saul.

Guilty as charged.

Re: Rob and Amber: Against the Odds (Daniel Negreanu reality show)

He's a sociopath. She's a fool with money.

Things will work themselves out.

The best part about them being a couple is that it prevents two other people from having to be miserable.

I thought Sheiky was particularly douchey

[/ QUOTE ]

From everything I've seen, saying Sheiky was particularly douchey is more or less like saying water is particularly wet.

Re: \"Official\" Poker After Dark thread (week of 1/2)

I did feel a little sorry for Phil, because yeah, he really did deserve a little peace while he employed his massive reading skills. And, you know, even though we all enjoy watching his tantrums, he...

Re: \"Official\" Poker After Dark thread (week of 1/2)

As I said, Phil never disappoints.

Nor did the table's reaction when Phil said he needed silence to deploy his reading skills.

Re: A morality post inspired by a response in another thread here

Seems to me that telling any guy that he's a bad poker player is a great way to lose some teeth.

Just tell 'em what they want to hear. If they were into reality, they'd be home reading 2+2 books...

Re: \"Official\" Poker After Dark thread (week of 1/2)

I'm lovin' the show.

Table talk: I'm willing to bet that the chatterboxes at these tables are also chatterboxes in real life. I'd much rather watch/listen to those guys trade barbs and just try...

Re: I did it again for the 12th time in a row.

Why is talk about compulsive gambling harsh? It sure sounds like a problem at the very least. The OP has a seriously self-destructive pattern of behavior. Step 1 (not of the 12, but of the...

Re: Parents say Quit Poker...FBI

A little prudence wouldn't hurt here.

I mean, if you seriously want to be an FBI special agent, would it really hurt so much to give up gambling until you've got the job and/or found out first...

Re: The impact of mixing live games, Omaha, NL, LHE, etc.

Actually, I think the number of nits is the same at HE. It's just that they're a new breed of younger HE nits.

Then again, being the olde phart that I am, I guess I fit well in the "old nit"...

Re: The pain of losing is much worse than the thrill of winning

Yeah, that's pretty much been my experience. I was winning at microlimits in various games, but I found that the highs weren't canceling out the lows, so I quit playing.

I s'pose if I stayed at...

Re: Running it twice?

Basically, to run it twice after the flop means:

Burn-Turn-Burn-River

Set that aside

Burn-Turn-Burn-River

again

Re: Losers

Used to win at microlimits ($1/2 or less) O8. Stepped away from the game for a year or more. Now, I'm a loser at it.

Used to win at microlimits ($.50/$1 or less) at LHE. Stepped away from it as...

Re: Running it twice?

Couldn't agree more. Then again, I got called a troll for saying that.

Of course, I did say it in a trollish sorta way, so I guess that was fair.
