Re: % of hands

VPIP% and PFR% are averaged hands across every position. Most players will play for more hands from the cut off and button.

Also, if you go into PokerStove and select the top 20% of hands it will...

For micro and small stakes full ring no limt I think the 20 buy-in rule is fine.

Re: 77 Preflop and Calling a Raise in Position

He could have a flush draw, AK or even KQ. The only hand in his range that beats you is KK. You have to get it all-in and take the chance that sometimes you'll go broke.

Well played, reload,...

Re: Playing online again after 2 yr hiatus, need advice/opinions

PokerTracker / PA-HUD seems to be standard. I've recently started using HoldemManager (free at the moment as it's in beta) and RealTimeHUD (also free) and really like them.

I'm a member at Stox...

Re: question about 25NL

shark_fishin,
I would recommend you play full ring. Full ring is easier to beat with a standard TAG strategy "hit-to-win". Once you can beat full ring NL$100 then look at 6-max. 6-max requires...

Re: question about 25NL

shark_fishin,
Are you playing 6-max or full ring?
What site do you play on?
How many tables do you play?

PS PokerStove or HoldemRanger is a good idea. Both are free.

Re: T9s, I 3-bet flush draw on paired board

Without a read / feel for the meaning behind his c/r I prefer a fold here given we are 200BB deep and making your hand could easily get you stacked.

Re: How long did it take you to get good/profitable?

I would recommend you pick a game and stuck to it until you were a significant winner. I usually recommend full ring no limit to my friends who are starting out as you can play hit-to-win poker...

Re: When to move up in limit.

In no limit a bankroll of 20-30 buy-ins in usually recommended. So you probably want to wait until you have $200 before taking shots at NL$10.

I haven't played the micro-stakes for a long time...

Re: Calling vs raising / all in, 2 hands with draws.

Hand 1: Fold. You are out of position and will probably face another bet on the river which makes calling a bad option (esp. if a heart falls). Raising seems bad too since it sets you up to win a...

Re: KK turns an ace.

NH, you beat nothing but a bluff. There's a straight, flush, plenty of two pair hands and any A in his range that beat you.

Re: 1/2 mixing it up

If his range is TT+, AQ+ and he pushes QQ+, AK+ then you expect him to push 55% of the time and fold 45%.

If he folds you gain ~$34.

If he pushes you can fold and loose an additional ~$82 or...
