Re: 3/6 LO8, nut flush and emergency low

When you check the turn, you invite MP1 to raise you & force you out. It's better, imo, to bet the turn rather than check & then call 2 big bets cold.If you bet out,you give BB a chence to raise &...

Re: 3 betting turn w/ one pair

Pre/flop raise is marginal but ok,imo.Flop donk is good.I would just check/call the turn.

Re: The Commerce, some turn action

I would bet the turn, but I would not be hoping for a raise, telling me that I am currently beat.I would bet because I would be afraid to risk giving a free card to this many players if my hand is good.

Re: a concept borrowed from NL

Death Donkey,if you're really interested in working on your no limit game, take a look at Dan Harrington's books. They're great.

Re: Comm 40: JJ and I haven\'t even had a chance to raise yet

If you raise the flop, the next player will be getting 13 to 1 odds & each successive player will keep getting better odds than that.A raise on the flop will not protect your hand much at all.

Re: I folded the nuts

For beginning players or poor hand readers, calling the river every time that you're gettng 10 to 1 odds or better may be half-way reasonable,I don't know.

After a player begins to learn to read...

Re: Medium Stakes Hold \'em: Losing Big with Expert Play

If your opponent were weak & passive so that you could turn him into a checker & caller with this move on the turn,I would like it.

As it is,against Mike,I think that the way that you played it...

Re: D! Fence!

You have a hand that is good a reasonable amount of time, & when you're behind it has 11 outs to the nuts + some other out that may or may not be good.

Re: D! Fence!

HOWMANY,I believe that you would bet this turn if you were rested up.Take another look after you have had a nap.

Re: levels

Death Donkey, you are right as usual. The correct play, whether to donk or try for the check/raise, depends on how your opponent will view your donk.

Re: on donking

Bakku's hand will usually be good because you would probably try for a check/raise with a better hand than AK.

He should raise the flop because if he just calls it, you may check the turn into...

Re: results

I haven't seen the other responses. As to whether you should raise on the flop or wait for the turn,I would raise on the flop.Shoot while you've still got the gun!

Re: But I hate folding- River line

The difference in ev between c/c & b/f is extremely small. If you don't feel comfortable about folding to a raise, just c/c & don't worry about it.

Re: 15-30 hand for review

I don't like the p/f 3-bet or the flop call at all,but this was a nice spot for a 3-bet on the turn. It's dangerous, since it could easily get capped with you holding the worst hand, but still...
