nl 50 2 hands... new to NL

I'm buying in short to the $50 game vs. playing a full buyin in the 25 game... is this bad??
I figured there might be comments about buying in short/not having a full buyin.

Villain looks tight...

Re: AA vs river donk

Seems like a pretty easy call (no raise).
I can't put him on a hand that will call your raise that you beat. Maybe if he was overaggressive and you've previously noted BB paying off light then a...

Re: WPEX Regulars thread (lc)

Anyone have thoughts on imsohigh? This character claims to be a winner but only plays sporatically and, imo, awfully. Confirm/deny? I want to play this jerk HU for rollz.

Re: I know the cheat code for poker (limit)

lol at villain not capping the river. what did he put you on, quad nines?

[/ QUOTE ]

SB put hero on 98s obviously. You're just jealous you can't read hands that goot.

Re: k10o bb

What about check-raising the flop and leading the turn?

If he calls the turn, we can be pretty sure he has an ace (although maybe he might have a hand like KQ/QQ).

I like check calling it down,...

Re: Value of big slick

I normally check behind in 6-handed games.
There are times when I lose value, but unless I have a read that opponent "he probably can call me down with A high or even K high" I just check behind....

Re: flop decision

Seems like it should be a fold.

Could be a raise depending upon BB's view of Hero as a raiser, but considering hero will rarely just release to a raise, the cost of fighting over the pot will be...

Re: Oh No... not QQ again

Both hands seem like folds.
Definately tough situations.

Hand 1 seems like more of a clear fold... although it's true that if AK is in his range, then it's a call (just because I wont shove all...

88 vs. a PF cap

So my main question is how often do you look someone up in this spot (with the knowledge they may have AK).

Re: Any good books for low-limit short hand?

HE for advanced players (sklansky) has some information on short-handed play.

However I would imagine that browsing these boards will and playing low, low limits will be the best way to learn.

Re: Donkfold river?

Seems like the TAG probably has a flush draw or a set.

It seems to me like the EV is probably strongest when you Bet/Fold (I don't think he's going to bluff raise the river... that would be pretty...

Re: 1/2 TPGK in 3bet pot get raised on turn

[ QUOTE ]
You might as well call now for your 2 pair, but I would probably fold the river if he bets again.

[/ QUOTE ]

I really don't think you have odds to hit a 10. If he has QQ-AA then...

Re: Is this a foolish play on my part

The result is obviously frustrating, but you should be done when he pops you on the turn.
Atleast you have your read confirmed that you can call him down loose.
I really, really don't like the...

Re: Pocket pairs in the blinds... multiple hands

Seperate from this beautiful battle...

I miss-represented the third hand - It was 6 handed, UTG raised, CO cold-called and I'm in the button with 2s... so it's basically a question of whether I...

Re: 2/4 - River decision.. check/call or bet/fold?

I would bet for sure.
If he raises, I normally call - but expert play is probably to fold at the 2/4 game vs. a guy who hasn't raise your eyebrows

Re: raised on turn with TPNK in big pot

Seems like a fold.
His raise into 2 players **probably ** isn't a draw, and if he's ahead - he's way, way ahead.
You definately have the best hand every now and then, but if he's not ahead here -...

I'm curious if you feel like these are value raises, or if the possibility of a re-raise is too dangerous.
