Re: Losing with AKo...

Yep, it's pretty normal.

Think this way: Take a couple of big pots lost with AK and turn them into winners. You could raise your results to about -$9, almost breakeven. And that's just two pots....

Re: Optimum bluffing frequency question

Numbers don't lie, of course, the optimal bluffing frecuency makes our opponent indifferent (zero EV for him), it doesn't matter if he always calls or always folds (in the nuts-or-nothing situation)....

Re: weird donk

BTW, I've seen fish taking c/c c/c donk line with a monster a lot (in smaller stakes though). They love to stick around till the river.

I'd call, if I've been playing with him a good amount and I...

Re: Optimum bluffing frequency question

It's more complex than that. The classical example of optimal bluffing frequency (a river bet) assumes that you have nothing or the nuts, so we bluff 1/(pot+2) of the time to avoid being exploited...

Re: Did I miss value ? 3/6

I play it the same. You need a pretty good read on BB to raise the turn or river.

Re: Lost with flopped top 2 , multiway

Bet the turn. The 9h is bad but the pot is 9BB and you have top two pair, giving a free card to a naked heart/Q/8 is a disaster. Obviously call a raise and re-evaluate the river card. BB has a piece...

Re: Gettin\' trixy with the OESD

When a TAG 3-bets a coordinated flop is usually a good hand making your wide semibluffing range pay, or a good draw (QJs w. FD or things like that). He's not folding to the turn c/r enough IMO, and...

Re: Tricky spot with an overpair

I'm probably calling down against an unknown, but the board sucks. We have 4 non-spade dirty outs and he could be semibluffing KsX or betting a smaller pair. Maybe we could find a fold on a spade...

Re: JTs river spot in biggish pot

If he's solid TAG, I'd fold. He has a very tight capping range 3-handed ~(TT+,AQs+,AKo), the only logical hands we beat are AQs/TT, and they are probably checking behind.

Re: missed AK against Donk in multiway

Raising the flop for a free card is bad IMO. Third player is nearly all-in (we don't need to protect or buy outs cause if he has something he'll call a raise anyway) and BB may re-donk the turn, also...

Re: TPMK on paired board vs preflop 3 bet

I fold preflop in the HJ in 3/6.

This type of player can 3-bet weird hands sometimes, but 88+,AQo,AJs+ is OK. And he is probably not folding any part of his range because he's passive fishy type....

Re: A8s turn semibluff

The flop peel is damn close or -EV, depending on our opponent's range.

If we assume he has 66+,A9s+,ATo+,KQs, wich is ~50% equity against typical HJ open (Stox recommendation), we have 20% equity...

Re: Three barrels?

I think he's probably bet/folding 44-99 in the turn after 3-betting preflop. People just 2-barrel a lot when they are PF 3-bettors and there are some gutshots Kx Qx that we may have.

So we're...

Re: Calldown with 99

I'll fold the river.

He's pretty passive and raised UTG, so his range is pretty tight (Ax, big pairs) unless we have a read on his open-raises (lots of 50/10 raise 64s preflop and open-limp AKo,...

Re: Three barrels?

I don't think the flop raise is that bad if we believe he's folding a pocket pair smaller than the board.

Assuming 44+,A6s+,ATo+,KTs+,KJo+,QJs (probably wider) he'll have 44-99 about 20% of the...
