Thousands of great (not elite) rock climbers can easily do multiple one-arm pullups. None of them have bodies anything close to "triangular".

If you actually are eating only 2k calories a day, then the odd 3.5k one is not going to hurt you at all. You should be losing weight extremely fast regardless.

Running is less efficient so you'll burn more calories/mile, but it will take a shorter time so you'll burn fewer base metabolic rate calories. But overall the running burns more, and more fat.
