Re: Buried aces, everyone pairs his doorcard

Definitely fold. Both of the callers "should" have trips.

Re: Biggest Limit Stud Pot Win II

When a TAG three-bets the river, I at least start to suspect a full-house or better. When he makes it four or five bets, I don't like a flush very much. I can't imagine going more than about seven...

Re: Razz .50/1 - betting 6th and 7th

I think that when everybody else uses the term "board-lock," they mean that the other guy currently cannot have you beaten. You have a board-lock on sixth, and as such should pump as much money into...

Re: River action?

The dead Ace is all the more reason to raise. I'd be happy buying the antes on third.

There is no way in hell I'm folding trip Aces to an unknown, especially if I have him pegged as a fish.

Re: Razz .50/1 - betting 6th and 7th

[ QUOTE ]
I don't believe such an opponent really exists.

[/ QUOTE ]

So why even bring it up? Bet/folding the river would be absurd.

Re: Razz .50/1 - betting 6th and 7th

I s'pose. Are you saying that we shouldn't bet the river?

Re: Low limit stud says it\'s correct to complete the bring in....

I'd pretty much always raise, especially at low limits. They're not putting you on a hand.

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

[ QUOTE ]

Why not jam 5th street?

[/ QUOTE ]

We've got one pair. Who's to say that someone doesn't have two pair or better? The one guy is raising with something. Everyone else is...

Re: Razz .50/1 - betting 6th and 7th

This guy just raised sixth street when he had a Nine against a very obvious Eight. You can't fold to a river raise.

Re: Razz .50/1 - betting 6th and 7th

I don't know why you need comments on sixth. You have a board lock and a super draw. Get your money in there. I'd definitely bet the river. He's going to look you up with a worse hand, and he's...

Re: Low limit stud says it\'s correct to complete the bring in....

I'm talking a scenario where you started with Jacks, the other guy started with a three-flush, and he is now showing open Queens. You're not in great shape in this scenario, either.

Re: Split aces (blah)

When 44 check/three-bets fourth, your Aces-up are in deep doo-doo. Everything after your initial raise on fourth is spewing.

Re: Low limit stud says it\'s correct to complete the bring in....

The guy who starts with a pair has something like a 16% chance to hit his set if he stays in until the river. One-pair hands can't handle a lot of pressure and are frequently folded before the end. ...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)4 , did I put in the appropriate amount of action here

In hero's spot, I raise third with a lot of hands. I figure that if I raise with crap often enough, I ought to raise when I actually have a hand as well.

Re: Big pot in Razz

I think the pot is way too big for him to even think about folding for one bet. It's not like 5T is a threat to raise behind him.

I see no reason not to play this straightforwardly against an unknown $3/6 player.

Re: Big pot in Razz

You're allowed to edit your posts when the converter doesn't quite do the job. I think fifth is a fold on the first pass, but this isn't my game, and I spent most of this evening at Town Hall.

Re: Stud8 - stealing from bring-in

Playing split Nines in stud/8 has never been my strong suit, but I don't like the bets on sixth and seventh. The other guy probably has a low draw, which he's not going to fold on sixth. Your river...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)4 , did I put in the appropriate amount of action here

I would just call the raise on fourth. Opponent is probably one card away from free-rolling on you. Similarly, I'd just call on fifth. Everything else looks fine.

Re: Common situation in BI (Stud Hi)

[ QUOTE ]
Is anyone ever betting 4th here at a very LAG table?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. Not at any other kind of table, either.

Well played.

Re: Call or 3-bet river?

The other guy was doing the raising on third street, so no, he's not folding there.

I think electrical nailed this one.
