Re: Moving Up

I've sustained 36bb/hour at the limit I'm currently at for a few months, but I'm multitabling, and included rakeback, so if I calculate that to be about 10bb/100hands if that sounds more reasonable....

Moving Up

I'm not so sure if this is a beginners question, but it asks the advice of more experienced players than I:

Should I challenge a game higher than I'm used to even if it means a lower hourly wage...

Re: Fold the Nuts?

Sometimes you can learn alot about situations that do happen from situations that don't.

Re: Fold the Nuts?

[ QUOTE ]
However, I agree with some other posters as to the realism of such a scenario. Being pragmatic, I would concentrate on other holdem situations to master instead of one like this. It...

This is the best situation I could imagine - anyone know of a situation where the correct play is to fold the nuts? Is that even possible?

Freerolls --> microstakes SNGs --> Fixed limit and bonus whoring --> No Limit

Re: Question About Ratholing in .01/.02 nl

I kind of follow you. I just imagine this situation:

You sit in at 100NL with a $3000BR.

You win 20x the buy in at that one table (I know that's ridiculous, but I'm just making a point) so...

Re: how to multi table comfortably?

The way I progressed through multitabling was just playing what was comfortable until I started getting really bored at the number I was at.

I remember I got really bored playing just one table,...

Re: Fold the Nuts?

Ok, so our Nuts are really only about 11% - but still worth a call because of the enormous pot odds.

I'm trying to think of any situation where the nuts at any given point could actually be the...

Fold the Nuts?

This hypothetical situation was presented by Greg Weum to Mike Caro, and is available in his articles at www.poker1.com (http://www.poker1.com):

Suppose you are playing 10 handed 20/40 Limit and...

Re: Question About Ratholing in .01/.02 nl

There's no reason to leave a table if you've earned alot of money there, regardless of how much of your bankroll it is.

In fact, if you worked $3 into $18 at a single table, you ought to stay...

Re: Question for those with $1K+ bankrolls

I sort of agree with you... I'm one who prefers to be a master of one trade than a jack of many.

However, limit proved to be a low-risk, profitable bankroll builder when I first started out.

I...

Re: questions about the rule of 4 and 2

I used to have a problem with this too.

I find that whether or not you should multiply by 2 or 4 on the turn depends alot on the game (as well as the situation).

In Limit, I find it's best just...

Re: Mixed Feelings

3 years of seeing NL flops should give you the experience you need to be a winning poker player. But only if you're willing to study the game, figure out the math, and play within your roll at a...

Re: Question for those with $1K+ bankrolls

I started with a $25 deposit after seeing a couple thousand flops on play money tables.

I started off playing limit which I think is a good way to begin, especially because I figured out the...

Re: Mutli Tabling

Also, many online cardrooms now offer mini-tables [Pokerroom (Ongame network), Ultimate Bet, etc.] which make it much easier to spread many tables across one screen without overlap.
