Re: 5/10 - 10 handed - Q3s in BB against loose player and PFR - River Play

I would call here and fold if the CO raises. You have to call as you likely have top pair with a loose and reasonably aggressive SB betting after checked flop and turn. I would not raise as the SB...

Re: Live 6/12: TT UTG and two ugly overs

I guess a lot of this depends on your read of the villain. Given that the villain is so laggy that you've got yourself to the turn this way, I'd consider letting him continue with the lead and...

Re: Live 6/12: TT UTG and two ugly overs

Jesse,
With all these loose players, who have apparently adjusted to the super lag, I'm thinking check the flop and depending on the action either fold, call, or raise when it comes back to you. I'd...

Re: taking a shot at 15/30?

StrictlyStrategy,

I value you your comment. There's a reason that my subject line has a question mark, and I phrased it as taking a shot.

It would, however, be very helpful if you could clue...

Not strange at all, pretty helpful actually.

Re: taking a shot at 15/30?

bellatrix, thanks for this advice.

Another way of asking. Will the AJ 15-30 or Bay 20/40 play more like Ciaffone's Middle Limit Holdem Poker or Miller's SSHE?

Re: Does available limits in my casino affect the game I play in?

I think you're correct that during certain times, like 7-11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, you sometimes find complete beginners. However, I doubt that we win most of our money from the total...

taking a shot at 15/30?

Normally I play 6/12. Got table share of bad beat JP. Now thinking about taking a shot at 15/30 at Artichoke Joes or one of the mid-stakes games at Bay 101.

Advice to enhance my likelihood of...

Re: 6/12 Live: I flop the wheel from the BB

1. Given that you will likely have been the most aggressive player on the table, at least most nights, anyone with an A or a J is going to call you down. They won't notice that you're tight, but they...

Re: 6/12 Live: I flop the wheel from the BB

MP has a J, and you hope it's not an A. Since it's statistically unlikely, I would reraise/call the river.
I'd do the same on the flow and turn, you can't let it check through.

Re: An Alternative Play When Inducing Bluffs/Bets

James,
thanks for your thoughts. i agree with your analysis of my analysis. nevertheless, your post serves as a good reminder to me when I play not to bluff calling stations.

Re: Does available limits in my casino affect the game I play in?

Jesse,
Do you really see that much difference between the play at 3/6 v. 6/12? I recognize it's hard to quantify, but my take has been that they are not so different, except that the drop is...

Re: An Alternative Play When Inducing Bluffs/Bets

James,
I don't play in the aggressive online environment, rather I play in the loose passive live milieu, and what you have posted here is very interesting to me if you look at it from the live...

Re: What do you do at the tables?

No time to read all the responses, but I am amazed that multiple people eat 'finger food' while playing. I guess I'm germ-cautious, as I bring the Target version of Purrell and apply that stuff to my...

Re: Live 6/12: A4s from the BB

It depends on the line up, but I'd consider betting out here too for value. Obviously you'll get callers, but if you can knock out a few you're in better shape. Also, in most of those games you won't...

Re: A preflop movie: KQs, 3 bets, and suicide all-ins

no the cap depends on the location, either 4 or 5 bets depending.

Jesse-
I wouldn't cap this either unless this was a maniac that you'd seen 3-bet trash in the past. I would call and evaluate the...

Re: 6/12 live, huge pot, this is what I did with my set.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I guess I have a long way to go as I posted this thinking that I might have put in too much money rather than too little, which is what your consensus is.

Villain...

Re: Limp-raise is for wimps. Try the cold-call/4-bet. Low Content

Interestingly, his cold-call/3bet/cap makes sense for set value given the 6 callers. First time around it makes sense because he wants as many cold callers as possible. The second time around and 3rd...

I agree with Theory and Advanced. I've enjoyed the Ciaffoni (spelling?) book, I think called Mid-limit holdem or something like that because it has tons of quiz type questions with rationale....

Re: Trash hands turning into good draws

Jesse, It will depend on the table texture, and I agree with you that it can really vary. Since you play evenings, my guess is that you might be best off betting out. It is pretty common that even if...

Re: Button and got flush draw on the flop and u have 3 callers........

do you have outs other than the nut flush? was the flop such that someone might have hit it? For example, since they are tight if there were two brdwy on the flop I'd consider checking. Anyway, to...

Re: Button and got flush draw on the flop and u have 3 callers........

Depends on the weak tightness of the table and whether the flop is likely to have hit someone. If high, then I consider betting a good amount of time. At a typical loose passive table, with 3 callers...

Re: Low Content, I win 100 dollar bonus but fail at math

jesse,
Did you think about the villain having 33? Based on the play this is within the realm of possibility. I think showing your hand would have voided the possible big jackpot (~75k total last I...
