Re: Basic Omaha 8 Probability Calculations

I had a brief look at this post. Your calculations on Q7 seem to count hands like 666, 778, 88A and so on. Once you have determined the rank of a low card that doesn't pair you, there are four less...

Re: Why You Should *Always* Bet Your Low Locks

Your opponent obviously caught the 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif on the river to make a straight flush. Good fold /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Some hands of stud8

Yeah that makes sense. I considered betting for exactly that reason, but I guess I got a little too passive there. I thought my hand had little scoop potential, but I catched very good on the latter...

Some hands of stud8

I had a sick run of cards at the HORSE tables recently, making almost sixty big bets in about an hour (two-tabling).

Here are two of the last hands that i got dealt. I'd like to know if I'm...

I'd probably start with reading as much as you can on these games... Sklansky on Razz for razz, there's also a tiny section is SS/1 on razz. There's a good section on omaha/8 in SS/2. ...

Re: HU rake considerations in split pot games

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to improve my game. I'll admit that my first post was probably too easy to misunderstand. I'll try to think more about how I post things in the future.

I'm also...

Re: HU rake considerations in split pot games

I probably messed up my initial post. I should have said that you know that your opponent can't make a better low hand than yourself, and you're certain that he has a high hand that you can't beat. ...

HU rake considerations in split pot games

I've played some HORSE (0.5/1) on Pokerstars lately. It seems like they rake a certain amount for every dollar that goes into the pot unless the pot gets big.

Let's say that you're playing stud8....

Plus he might have overbet a crucial hand in a tourney when he thought his 23 444K K had a board lock against his opponent's xx AAAA x.

Re: Razz question

I play a little HORSE now and then. I once open-completed because I thought that we had changed to stud. Luckily I realized that people called me with small cards, so I got away from it on fourth...

Re: (razztoberfest) a hand against jacksquat - fold, will ya?

I incidentally ran 762 vs. 73A on twodimes. 762 had an EV of 0.515. Against 72A it only had an EV of 0.471. It's also in bad shape against 732, 742 and 752. I guess that means that you have to...

Re: Players on PS are good -LMAO

Well. If seat 7 is bad enough to raise on 6th street with only two pair, I suppose that you can't really put him on a better hand than yours on the 7th street. There are probably some dead money from...

Re: (razztoberfest) a hand against jacksquat - fold, will ya?

I'm quite new to razz. I was wondering if capping on third street here is horrible.

Some arguments against it are that you have a rough draw, and you might want to wait for a better spot before...

Re: Video post for SS NL 5CD

Nice video. You seem like a solid player with a good strategy. Just don't show this to the regular donkeys. I don't want the limpers to start raising or folding before the draw...

Re: limit 5CD: Pat bluff in a tournament

Thanks for the response. The hand histories from Pokerstars has a feature that allows you to see what your opponent mucked at showdown. I'm not sure if I like this or not, but it let me know that my...

limit 5CD: Pat bluff in a tournament

Here are a couple of hands from a tournament I played recently on Pokerstars. The game was limit 5 card draw. The buy-in was a dollar, and there were 294 entries.

Congratulations to all 2+2-ers that performed well in the event.

I don't remember any really interesting hands. I think Hanson got a little bored with the heads-up play since he switched to the...

WCOOP (PL 5CD) - final table

I'm gonna watch the final table when it starts. Are there any 2+2-ers left in the tournament?

I've got the radio coverage with Hanson and McEvoy going. You can make posts in this thread about...

I think this is the right place to post about 5 card stud. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Re: limit 5CD: Would you even consider not capping with a full house h

SB did only have an ace-high flush. I initially assumed that BB overplayed trips, but he didn't show.

When I saw the results, I realized that I should probably have capped against anyone (except...

Re: $ 1/2 5cd Did I miss out on a BB here?

Yeah. You're right. What I meant to say was that you might be ahead more often than not, but I think it's close. The other point was that it might still not be correct to raise, because you'll...

limit 5CD: Would you even consider not capping with a full house here?

CO seemed a little too loose.

I had played with SB for a while, and think he was playing a little tight and somewhat passive. He was constantly folding from SB when I had BB earlier in the...

Re: $ 1/2 5cd Did I miss out on a BB here?

Here's something you might want to think about when deciding if you're going to three-bet here:

1) What hand range do you put him on after his predraw-play?

After the discard, it seems likely...
