Relocating to Champaign, IL

Hey guys, I'm relocating to Champaign, IL - I've never lived there or anything, and I have no idea what the legal brick and mortar poker scene in the Land of Lincoln is like. Where are the nearest...

Re: WSOP 2k7 Omaha 8 Events; Whose Getting Ready?

I played the Pot Limit O8 event at the Taj back in November, ($340 buy-in) and the dealers were surprisingly competent for the most part. We helped along the few that weren't and it went pretty well....

Re: The Future Of Omaha 8\'s Popularity?

One thing I should have mentioned - the geezers hate pot-limit O8 - that same weekly tourney used to have about 80-100 people when it was limit - and I heard the geezers in the cash games openly...

Re: The Future Of Omaha 8\'s Popularity?

One thing T50_Omaha8 - the Taj weekly O8 tourney is now Pot Limit, and the Trump Classic $300+40 was also pot limit. The dealers do a surprisingly decent job with it too, so I think that might start...

Re: The Future Of Omaha 8\'s Popularity?

While I agree with the comments about live O8 having about 1/3 of the players being hooked up to oxygen - there are some encouraging things . . .

I'm an Omaha mostly player at this point - most...

Taj Friday O8 tourney

Anyone here play in the Taj Friday (3:15) O8 tourney? I'm just curious as to how many players it gets, what the competition is like, etc.. I'm thinking of heading out there this Friday and taking a...

Re: Went to Foxwoods on Monday Feb. 13th and got owned

Is the 'old people' phenomenon a typical live Omaha 8 thing? When I played at the Taj last month (the only time I've ever played live) I was the only person under 50 in the 5/10 + kill game most of...

Re: Hourly rates...

I would say looking at those numbers assuming they are somewhat typical of larger samples, that if you can handle the varience at 200 PLO8, you could switch to 10/20 LO8 without seeing much...

Re: Hourly rates...

I stopped playing PLO8 (200 and 500) and switched to limit 5/10 and 10/20 recently (switched sites too).

When I played 200 and 500 PLO8, I made 14.51 BB/100 over a 4795 hand sample (part time over...

Re: SUPERBOWL GOES INTO OVERTIME.

One thing, all NFL games is not a good sample - as that includes many games that have huge spreads and I would think would be less likely to go to OT. I would think that two good teams playing each...

Re: Live MTT, looking for help on how to play structure (Trip Report)

Out of position, I'll typically bet as much I as I think they'll call in that spot Joao. If the flush card hits, I re-evaluate. If it doesn't I bet more on the turn.

Take that for what it's worth...

Hey trip report, in case you were serious Emon.

I had what I thought was a pretty good starting table. I recognized one player from an earlier tourney, others there that knew him told me he was...

Re: Live MTT, looking for help on how to play the structure

Thanks Emon.

The legs? Interesting, I'll pay attention - but what exactly would be an example of a 'leg tell'? What would be a leg movement that might indicate strength or weakness?

Or are you...

Live MTT, looking for help on how to play the structure

Live tournament - $75 buy in, 28 players, 4 tables of 7. I'm not sure how they'll consolidate, but I think they'll go to 3 tables at 21, 2 at 16 or 14, and then one final table of 8.

Structure:

Re: I\'m an idiot, but maybe you\'ll learn a lesson

I know the stakes are small, but at least I found a free roll to try to make back $5.65 of my $5.82 that I lost on my stupidity.

VIP NE +140
SI Den -135

So I dropped 152.96 on NE to win 214.14...

Re: $11 Fold JJ L1 preflop?

Also FWIW, if you like to see flops, and call but then have to fold to overcards on the flop you are .833. If you call, along with UTG+1 (who would be very likely to call if you do) and then win on...

Re: $11 Fold JJ L1 preflop?

Looking at ICM - if you fold along with everyone else, you are still at .1000.
If you fold and CO+1 takes out UTG+1, your $EV is .1008.
If you fold and UTG+1 takes out CO+1, your $EV is .1009.

Re: (109) bubble donking against aggro sb.. 88

OK, I went to ICM to try to figure this out for myself. Very interesting tool. Thanks for the PM noodleman.

If you fold, $EV is .2012
If you push and win, $EV is .3056
If you push and lose, $EV...

This is an instafold.

You do not need to gamble with these guys this early in the tournament. They WILL give you many more oppurtunities to get their chips later in the tournament.

Re: $11 Fold JJ L1 preflop?

I think he should push, and a very large % of the time (in total) he will either:

A) win a big pot when both fold
B) win a monster pot when both call (remembering that it's early in an $11 S&G,...
