You should be beating his range if he 3 bets hands like JJ+, AQ+. Flop bet did look like c bet until he called your raise. Looked more like an overpair or A /images/graemlins/spade.gifK...

I thought with villains check call on the flop I was ahead. When the straight draw completed on the turn I feared the villain had been chasing and was now value betting. What would you normally do...
